For various reasons, the mods/admins got together and reworked most of the AUP. Here is the rough draft of the new AUP. Now would be a great time to point out loopholes... pitfalls... poor typing... or offer up suggestions.

Well done. Posters who adhere to the spirit of this board can live with these.
Looks pretty good, but we may need further clarification on a few things. How about, say, an example of a legal citation for copyrighted material? Are we talking link, name and date of the publication, direct quotes, or what? Also, you may have noticed that CMU's main board is a Scout board, and I use both boards extensively. If we refer to a post there, does there need to be a reciprocal link within the post?

One more thing: the autoedit seems to be bleeping out legal words, like "a s s i s t a n t," which contain prohibited ones.

I'll fix that botched swear filter.

The main thing we're referring to in that copyright notice is posting entire articles.... especially those at Scout/Rivals. In general, we prefer to have a blurb posted with a link to the source.

A link to a post on CMU's scout board is fine... unless that post is "Scout Membership Special This Week!!".... i.e. - it's related sports content.
