CHICAGO WF HEADED TO TOLEDO

August 19, 2005 - According to Illinois Prep Bulls-eye and other sources, Chicago Crane Tech small forward Tyrone Kent has committed to Toledo and will soon sign a National Letter of Intent.

The 6-5 Kent is the top unsigned senior in the state of Illinois and recently became a full academic qualifier. He was a second team big school all-state selection and made the Illinois Coaches' all-star team.

Chicago Hoops rated Kent the #7 senior in Illinois, while Illinois Basketball Elite had him at #11. Here's what they said, "A prime-time scorer, Tyrone is athletic and a multidimensional player. Skilled, he is equally efficient at putting the ball on the floor driving to the basket as he is spotting up from the perimeter.â€

I'm not sure we "needed" him to step in and clog our 3 position any more than it already is.

We really do need a big guy, and I'm pretty sure jud will find us 2.

Toledo is just the better hoops program right now. He doesn't fill a need. But he seems to be a heck of a talent. With our new PG we are going to need someone for him to dish it to...Come on jud!
