The whole city of Chicago reeks like this...I guess there's a sucker born every minute.

eh, its better than those lakefront cities by Lake Erie, right?
Well, I never took the "tour", but I did play golf down at at Diabetes Foundation fund-raiser at Harborside GC ...it's an upscale public golf course they built on top of one of the old landfills on the near south side. Nice course but you really have to drive through some pretty nasty parts of town to access unless you stay on the freeways.
They should make Wrigley Field a part of that tour. :D
When you live in a city that's as cool as Chicago, people will even pay money to see your dumps.

I can understand why you're bitter, though. It must be frustrating to live amongst sprawl in suburban Virginia, where there's nothing worth seeing.

Chicago people realize they've been paying to see s#it for years, what's new about this?

I know that you stay in Rogers Park on the North Side
when you go to Chi. But a little side trip is called for
on your next visit. Maybe you can write it off as a
business expense:

"Two of the dormant landfills are among the highlights of the tour. One is a grazing area for 64 goats and the other has been turned into a golf course.

The goats are helping to turn the methane-producing, 170-foot landfill into a wildlife habitat, the IEPA's Komperda told visitors on the tour.

"We decided to give the goats a shot last year and they have been spectacular," he said. "The goats ignore prairie plants but eat the weeds, which lets the light in and helps the prairie plants."
