Pretty Tough Slates.

I see:

#15 Purdue, Wisconsin, Michigan State, #6 Ohio State, #10 Iowa, #4 Michigan, Indiana, and #23 Virginia

Sun Belt has:

#24 Alabama, #5 LSU, #2 Texas, Kansas State, Kansas, and Mizzou
Gracias.

This MAC fan hopes that the SBC continues to grow and be even more competitive, particularly w/ their BCS neighbors.
The following is a list of possible MAC vs. ACC games that in IMHO would be great for attendance as well as building interest & recognition for the conference. This list came about with the hope that a relationship could be developed along the lines of the MAC , B-10 scheduling agreement that has been developed. 1) Miami vs Miami,Fla. 2) NIU vs Maryland 3) Ohio vs Virginia Tech 4) Toledo vs. NC State 5) BGSU Vs. Florida St. 6) WMU vs Virginia 7) EMU vs Wake Forest 8) Ball St. vs BU 9) CMU vs NC 10) Buffalo vs. Duke 11) Akron vs Georgia Tech 12) Kent State vs. Clemson. With the 12 game schedule creating a need for more home games for both conferences, this proposal could be delivered as a package at the conference level. Games 2,3,6, & 8 have the advantage of the rivalry factor that helps build tradition in college FB. Some of the MAC "home"games such as BGSU vs. Fla. St., Miami vs. Miami, & EMU Wake Forest would need to be played at NFL sites. Although the 1 for 1 or 2 for 1 scheduling that would have to be developed is at best a difficult thing to agree upon, Over all, IMHO this thing with or without the same mix is worth a try.
Like to mention that Temple this year have the following ACC on their schedule. Maryland, Miami, FLA, Clemson, and Virginia. We had NC State on the list until we picked up Wisconsin and Western Michigan.
Thanks Raider. We'll need all the luck we can get in Charlottesville next Saturday night.

And as usual, I'll be pulling for the SBC against its BC$ opponents.
An Ohio vs Wake Forest matchup would be nice. Grobe is the former Ohio coach who had the only sucess in the past 25 years at Ohio.

Toledo approached NC State before and was turned down.

I'am sure there are other natural tie-ins between the MAC & ACC football programs that would help create more scheduling opportunities, does anyone know of any?

It's one thing to have your AD try to schedule an opponent, and another thing when your conference commissioner & the AD approach the same game scheduling objectives together. Rick Chryst has done a great job helping to schedule the B=10 vs MAC fb games, and I think his imput helped the Fresno & Boise State games with Toledo & BGSU become a reality. IMHO the ACC MAC matchups are something that should be vigorously persued, especially now that there is a need due to the twelveth game openings. IMHO the MAC's biggest problem is poor attendance, and more games with BCS opponents can only help cure that problem. WAT DO YOU THINK?
