Pittsburgh @ Ohio
LA-Lafayette @ EMU
Akron @ Purdue
Buffalo@Syracuse
NIU@Northwestern

Next week the MAC has five OOC games vs D-A teams. Kent plays a D-AA team. I think that EMU will win over LA-Lafayette. They were impressive against UC and are at home vs a bottom Sun Belt team. Ohio is going to host a Pitt team coming off a bad loss. Bobcats are is a work in progress but they are playing in the first national tv game in Peden Stadium and its Frank Solich's first home game in Athens. Tough matchup for Ohio, but as I watch ND-Pitt(42-13 Irish) there a chance that Pitt is still in transtion too with a new coach. Akron @ Purdue will be hard based on the domination by the Big Ten. Buffalo against Syracuse who be a huge upset. NIU and NW will be a good game. Both played well this week. NW will find out that NIU is a lot better than Ohio. High scoring close game.

Mac league games next week are
BGSU@Ball State- BGSU won't be stopping at 56 with their defense. 70 points is the over/under for Jacobs & Company.
CMU@Miami-Redhawks should rebound
Toledo@WMU- Rockets will roll.

Time will tell :)

I see a huge difference between the 04 and the 05 Broncos.

I am not yet sure that we will win, but we are not going to make it easy!
Western was impressive today without the starting QB. They will be much better this season if they play like today all season!

Is OU expecting a sellout for the Pitt game? Unfortunately, this could be a really bad week to have to play Pitt. I think Eastern will win. Purdue will win. I think Purdue has a chance to be really good this season. Syracuse over Buffalo. Buffalo and Ball State are just in trouble. I think NIU will beat NW. Wolfe will have a great game.

I'm interested to see what the spread is for BGSU-BSU.
I think Miami will win, but Central will hang around through 2 1/2 quarters.
Finally, Toledo will win, but I really think teams have to take Western seriously. Good showing vs. Virginia.

We'll see. But please don't bet on any of these picks.. :)
EMU and Kent should win, and NIU has a solid chance to make some noise versus NW. That battle for Illinois game could have the scoreboards smoking by halftime.
I can agree with most every prediction except NIU/NW. After watching NIU move the ball at will against Michigan, (and then inevitably hand it back to them) I feel safe in saying they will destroy Northwestern. OU looked so horrible in almost every facet of the game, it's not even fair to use them for comparison.

I was watching Sports Center last night, and they said the same thing.

If it were not for the turn overs, the game would have been the other way around.

NIU is going to be murder this year!
Most Ohio fans will be particularly interested in the results of the NIU@NW game just to see how much longer we have to go. Ohio is a very much a work in progress and I think our next two matchups are going to be brutal. This is not the year where you want to play teams of this caliber with a completely new coaching staff. Hopefully, we will see some more signs of life vs. Pitt.

Probably. But as any on this board who will admit to being Bears fans can tell you, Pitt's coach is fully capable of taking a program into a death spiral. I don't know which Pitt program will show up.
I came away impressed with Northwestern. They have a very good QB in Basenez. They beat Ohio State last season. Sure, they are at a disadvantage against the elite of the Big Ten, but they didn't make many mistakes vs Ohio. NIU is a good football team. Its hard to compare NIU against NW and Ohio. NIU is a MAC title contender this year. Ohio isn't a contender this year in the MAC, but only 4 team in the MAC are legit contenders. Ohio played hard. It wasn't any worse than last year. This team wasn't gonna be BGSU on offense in four weeks of practice. We got to see a bit of the new Ohio offense. A little option, a little trick play, short passes, and the home run ball. On Defense, Ohio was playing it very safe. they were trying not to give up the big play. The Kent State game will be the first fair measure of where Ohio is under Solich. NW, Pitt, and Va Tech are far better than Ohio. Kent State is much closer to the current level of talent at Ohio. We expect Ohio to compete with the bottom of the MAC this year and perhaps play Miami to a close game at the end.
