Just came back from Virginia yesterday...

I know the term "moral victories" doesn't carry much weight, but I took a moral victory out of our game over the weekend. Being 33 point underdogs, we were down by 5 points with 6 minutes to go in the game. This Bronco fan was happy to see a competitive, proud team fighting all the way until the end against a highly-talented UVA squad. Good production from a lot of backups and freshmen/sophomores.

Bodes well for the future and gives me reason to hope that our rock-bottom days are behind us. I don't want to make too much out of one game, and I still think we have a lot of work to do before we reach the MACC again, but it was encouraging.

On the whole, I was bummed to see that we (as a conference) didn't strike a motherload this past weekend.

Being out of town, I didn't follow things too closely from other games (and I still don't know many of the specifics). But it looks like untimely turnovers helped the opponent take charge, and defense seems to be an issue here and there.

Hope we pull in some good victories before the OOC season ends.

Good luck to all MAC teams next weekend, except Toledo. :)

BTW, if anyone sees Virginia on their schedule, I highly recommend a trip to Charlottesville. It's a very beautiful, historical campus, founded by one of my favorite presidents (Thomas Jefferson).
Thge Broncs are the next team to move up in the top tier. Although it wouldn't surprise me to see them get their head handed to the against Toledo or others, BG, because of their youth, this is the team to be wary of.

The other thing they have going for them is they have upper classmen skill positions in Cubit, Sheffler and Jennings ( by far the best wr in the MAC). They, w/the right breaks, could make a run if things go right this week, but at the least will do MUCH MUCH better this year w/the future promising.

Congrats, I think you are back.
It was good to see the Broncos put up such a good fight. Wish I had seen the game. I'm anxious to see WMU recover their recent past glory. Just wait another week, will ya? 03-wink

I've heard nothing but good things about UVa as well as William & Mary. Both are supposed to be historical campuses and are known as two of the original public ivies.
