Old news on the KSU board, since hoops is 24/7/365 there, but since it got some national attention, I'll post it here.
and very big help (literally and figuratively) for the Owls (see #7). Good thing, the schedule ain't easy.<a href='http://www.owlsports.com/sports/mbball/releases/release.asp?RELEASE_ID=16380' target='_blank'>Owls schedule</a>
axeme, being the gentleman he is, didn't even post the A Sun thread that projected Q as their conference POY as a junior. Something about his ability to take over a game....

It's been a great week for J.C.and the Flashes. First Q signs, then beating out Miami and Western Michigan for a different recruit. In addition, the junior runner up for Mr. Basketball from Wyoming is coming for a vist in late September. Even with Big Ten and Big East interest, he's got the Flashes high on his list.

Just don't mind us...everybody's gone....we got nothin". 03-wink

It will be interesting to see how the MAC race goes this year in hoops. Akron and Ohio are loaded at every position on the floor and have a deep bench. Miami should be good still, but Horace and Mason are huge shoes to fill. Buffalo still has Cage and Idbihi. Kent State and Bowling Green had a lot leave and a lot enter. Ball State,Toledo, and Western will be leading the way out west. Who is the most improved team? NIU, EMU, CMU. Kent State is going to be a hard team to pick with all the new players. They will either grind out another 21-9 12-6 type year or go 17-13 9-9 and be borderline 8-9 seed. Akron will win atleast 21 games and go 13-5 in the MAC. Ohio is expected to do that too.
The MAC is positioned to move up in conference rankings, and get more post season bids, but it really needs to build OOC schedule with higher quality home games, which in turn will help to build home attendance. The two or three Temple appearances a season will help, but much more is needed. Why isn't any MAC school scheduling home & home with Western Kentucky?

Eric Platt 6'5" 195, Casper Wyoming.
The only prospect listed for the state of Wyoming.53% shooter from 3pointland.

Laugh all you want. When you catch your breath, remember that the latest NBA MVP guard grew up in the basketball hot bed of Victoria, British Columbia.

The Rockets and Chips teams would take him in a heartbeat.
Ooooohhh...a transfer from JACKSONVILLE!!! POTY in the conference???!!! Man, the guy must be A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!

Oh, wait...Jacksonville is the school that accepted 6' 4". 126 lb Bryan Hipsher as a transfer...     !!!

Good luck with your new "stud." I hear he left because B Hip was taking all his PT!

I'm trying to remember the last time the "Zips" won a MAC title in hoops. 03-confused

Anyone... anyone ???
Still having those Hipsher nightmares, I see. They'll go away in a few more years. Maybe.

Though the nightmares of having to play us twice every year just never goes away for you guys. 03-wink
As for our new man, Q: you should follow hoops a little more closely (though we understand why you don't). He'll be one of the better players in the MAC next year--which was the point Doyel was making about impact players on a national level.
Don't we all just miss the days of daddy's little girl and her sister playing at Akron. Those were the days..

I can see why someone would transfer from Jville to Kent state. Instant upgrade in program. Ironically, that's the same reason Hipsher transferred to Jville from Akron. :D
Hey, things are going to look up for the Zips basketball program in the Mid East Atlantic Conference.

Plus, I'm sure they had number 11 on the transfer impact list. When is that announcement about the Oklahoma transfer going to come out, anyway? Not even on any of the wires, as far as I can tell.
