During my time as an undergrad at Miami (99-03), Ohio was not even an afterthought. The old alums cared about OU, but every student and recent alum at Miami cared about Marshall. That was our rival.

For the first time ever, I cheered for Ohio tonight.

I felt that Solich would need a couple of years to instill attitude into the team. Clearly that's not the case and with Ohio's great win and obvious change in attitude, perhaps that Ohio v Miami rivalry will come back into Miami's mind.

Congrats on a great win that showed the heart and attitude that Ohio's been missing for a long while.
Thanks. The Ohio-Miami rivalry is the best in the MAC in hoops. Unfortunately, Ohio hasn't performed in football well enough to help this long rivalry. I hope tonite we took a step toward building something that will make the Ohio-Miami game mean something. Miami is the bar that Ohio needs to reach. Solich will get us there and Ohio and Miami will play in sellouts every year at the end of the year like Toledo and BGSU do now. We have to earn the respect one game at a time. Ohio needs to next beat a MAC elite team to get to the next level. Not sure if we have the offensive package in place to do that this year, but we should be atleast competitive at home making Ohio no longer an automatic W for MAC elite.
As a Herd fan, I have always enjoyed playing Ohio in the battle for the bell. I wish we could have kept the game going . Great Win OHIO.
