What is your opinion?
Does anyone know what the answer is officially?
I would consider Temple D-AA by the way they have played so far. They aren't BSC this year, but with the bowl tie in they are D-A non-BCS. MAC can pad the stats vs the owls. And remember guys, don't run up the score too bad because they are like an adopted child of the MAC.
I would consider it an OOC game.

However, I would definitely not consider it a I-AA game. Temple is I-A, even if they aren't very good. Did the teams that beat UCF last year consider that win as a win against a I-AA school? What about when NIU had that long losing streak and the other MAC schools were beating them?

EMU beat a terrible UL Lafayette on Saturday. They are I-A, even though they are as bad as many I-AA schools.

If you play a really good I-AA school, like one that ends up in the I-AA playoffs, do you consider it a game against a I-A school because they are better than other I-AA schools and better than at least a good handful of I-A schools? I would think the answer is no.
OOC, like "Only Our Conferance" would let these guys in a league. Its only gonna get worse. Somebody needs to call an emergency meeting in order.
souldn't you be out kicking a soccer ball around.
"souldn't". The response wasn't that long to allow your Temple CC education to be exposed.
When a bear ***** in the woods, does it smell?

Careful there Little Conner, you may want to run a spell check on your post before you say that.

Temple games this year and next do not count in the MAC standings, but they WOULD be eligible for one of our bowl slots if they were to win enough games. They won't count in the standings until they become a full football member in 2007.
I would like to see your record if you played our first two games. By the way, who did you play? Temple will be ready for 2007 when it counts!!!! This whole year is a money schedule because our great administration gives us lip service. Its time for them to put up or shut up!!

Karl is spot on. I discussed this specifically with the MAC office before the season began.

I hope more Temple folks share your enthusiasm. I'd hate for the limited fan base to become totally disenchanted.

Hey there Mr. Elocution, do not cast stones at the gramatically challenged. By the way what campus had the privaledge of your enlightened, rigorous and studied observations?

What's Amatter U?
Disappointment over not gaining their hoops program aside, I'm still taking the dissenting view here in that we shouldn't get too worked up about Temple's performance this year.

They are not a MAC member, and they won't be until 2007. Things can happen after the next two seasons. They may not be going to the MACC any time soon, but they might put on a good show after a few recruiting classes.

Of course, as a fan of a team currently on a 12 game losing streak, with several of those losses being ugly, I'm not one to bash any program out there in the first place.

I do, however, completely disagree with allowing Temple eligibility to steal one of our bowl slots now (not that it's going to happen, but still...).
It does not matter what people think. It only matters what the MAC office says. And the MAC office says Temple is not included in the MAC standings in 2005 and 2005. That means Temple is not a MAC member in 2005 and 2006.

Temple will be included in the MAC standing starting in 2007. That means Temple is a MAC member starting in 2007. Right now Temple is a "future member" of the MAC. It's kind of like being engaged. The marriage didn't happen yet.

You can compare the deal about Temple being eligible for MAC bowls to giving your fiance a key to your apartment. She can come over a few nights a week. But she doesn't live there yet. Temple has no hope of getting a bowl bid.
Sorta like Notre Dame. They don't play football as a Big East member, but they have an arrangement to get a bowl bid in lieu of a team in that league.

Someone needs to inform Sagarin. Our ratings are bad enough as it is! (Of course the Big East's would currently increase IF Jeff included the Irish as a football member.)
Coolhand - connerito is too much of a b*tch to answer that question. I asked 3 or 4 times a while back and he just came back with typos and flame-outs. Do yourself a favor and block his posts. He's a punk with nothing to add.

I put up a thread about this at the beginning of the season. No one seemed to care at the time. I bet after seeing Temple's performances to start the season some of you might care now. Does anyone have Sagarin's e-mail address? Please post it here if you do.

MAC fans seriously need to e-mail him and demand that he take Temple out of the MAC rankings until 2007. They are not a MAC member now and shouldn't be dragging down the league's numbers worse than they already might be with the 12 current members.
