The upside of this, if there is one, is that this is probably Temple's low point, assuming they continue on with D-1A football in the long term.

Hopefully, Chryst exacted some promises of renewed commitment and investment from Temple before submitting their application for admission to the MAC to the Presidents' Council. (Lord knows, the MAC isn't getting any benefit from this relationship in the foreseeable future.) If they hire a new coach and staff, and are successful in recruiting some talent, they may actually be competitive in the MAC within a few years. Being in a stable conference has to help.
Temple has a lot of potential for the MAC. I think once Temple enters for football and develops a rivalry with Buffalo you will see the benefits of this move for the MAC. Temple may help awaken Buffalo football. Having a eastern presence will keep the MAC in the east coast press which may help recruiting.
Well this must be that great East Coast media market presence the Owls are bringing to the table.... since they didn't bring basketball. :rolleyes:
