I have said all along that Phil Horvath is the best QB in the MAC.

Was that before or after the interception?
03-lol
The TV guys said his nickname is "Flipper". I thought it was "Lotto".

That's willy's nickname for him, but we all know that willy isn't on the team. 03-wink

Flipper? Because he flips it up there.

Well it is good phil horvath really showed up against the best team on our schedule Tenn Tech. I mean tenn tech can really do it on both sides of the ball, not only that but only 1 pick against tenn tech should be something to be proud of!

I like what we did this game, but it was like playing a high school team. I don't have anymore faith in the D, and i don't think Phil is Joe Theisman back there either. I think we will find out who they are these next two games.

I don't take anything away from this game except the fact it was a win. We won't play a team near as bad as tenn tech was.

Agreed.

But I think that is a given for anything kedzman does.
From listening to the comcast crew of Kaplan and Waddle(Glad they did the game). They seemed very impressed with Britt Davis. He will be a play maker. His brother dropped a catchable ball. Dan Nicholson looked good too. When he threw the ball out of bounds, it had zip. Phil would not have even come close to the sidelines. Also, his throw to Evans Adonis had some zip on it.

Horvath is the QB, no QB battle. I agree Britt will be a playmaker, but at WR until Horvath leaves. Britt 2 years at WR, at 2 at QB.

I am really excited about the future with Britt....Just the way he rolled out of the pocket....Very smooth and very fast...I really detest the option, but if anybody can run it...it will be Britt....

Also on the one pass I saw Britt complete (I think it only went for two yards) it was a nice tight spiral and seemed to have some good velocity. Anybody else get a better view...

P.S. I will now remove my mouth from britt's arss.

Don't worry my mouth has been there, and it will stay there.
All the QBs played well. Another strong game (if not arm) from Horvath. Britt and Nicholson both looked good...

And that Ullrich, he sure can hand the ball off.

Isn't it interesting how the name of this thread is "Phil Horvath - Heisman Candidate", yet nearly all of the posts to this thread talk about how much they like Brit Davis. 03-lol That proves that the post is "ignorant".

Everyone agrees that there are 2 or 3 QB's in the MAC that are superior to Phil, yet someone starts a thread titled, "Phil Horvath - Heisman Candidate". No one can take this post seriously - otherwise, there would be people remarking that they agree with the premise.

It is an ignorant post. People have the right to post whatever they want, but that right does not exclude them from making posts that are ignorant.
I find it interesting that Novak sez PhilH is among the most cerebral qbs and coachable players he has had in awhile...

Wasn't Haldi a national scholar award recipient in accounting program?

Is there a "left side of the knoggin" for football and a "right side " for academics?

Sorry. Horvath and Heisman do NOT belong together in the same sentence. Give him his dues for sure - but please.....

What does academics have to do with being coachable?
dunno..... but there must be a link/correlation between "cerebral" -and whatever that means in football - and "cerebral" in accounting....

Anyone think he was being sarchastic in his post? I'd look up his previous comments but I don't care that much.

My take on the QBs:

1. Horvath. Looked good. I like the kid and I think he's becoming a leader of the offense. There seems to be respect for him out there. Throws well on the run, but has a couple quetionable throws, like missing the TE wide open in the back of the endzone when he hit Reighli (sp?) at the 3 yard line.

2. Britt Davis. He's going to be good. He's an incredible athlete. I walked past him after the game and he's a bigger guy than I thought. He looked good running the ball on that big gain, but missed the wide open reciever down field. He had a couple plays where he made some questionable decisions, but that's the type of thing that will come with experience.

3. Nicholson. One horrible throw. One incredible throw to Adonis and one ball thrown away that I still can't figure out how he escaped long enough to get rid of it.
