I think this Sox plummet has a lot to do with their "mullet night" they had a few weeks back. Visit http://www.mulletsgalore.com to learn more about the mullet species...

It was an attempt by White Sox management to divert attention away from the fact that EVERY night at Sox park is mullet night. This was mgts. way of poking fun at ignorant mullet hair cut people (who are largely sox fans) to create the illustion that Sox fans are not the dirt bags we all perceive them to be. The result was a confusing carma that has put the Sox into a major tailspin.

Perhaps they could have "cigarette smoking, Camaro driving, black acid wash jeans night".
But you see, that would further confuse the White Sox carma.

To reverse this funk, perhaps they could have "European import car/college degree night". Just a suggestion.
College Degree - Sox Fan. Something doesn't add up?

NIU27 Wrote:Nice fans. They only get 35,748 on HALF PRICE NIGHT with the Cleveland Indians in town.

They are 7th in attendance in the American League and 17th in all of baseball.

They owned the best record in baseball for more than 50% of the season, and the best in the AL for virtually all year.

What a joke!!!

Here's to the biggest CHOKE in the history of baseball - if not all sports! :tomato:
Let me say I am not a Sox fan or a Cubs fan, I am a Reds fan, but if the Cubs didn't play inside the world's largest bar, nobody would come to the games. If you put the Sox in Wrigley, they sell out every game also.

yes, but the way they are playing right now...even if they get in the playoffs, it'll be a 3 and out for the Sox.

Are you sure they would sell out Wrigley? The Sox fans as a group are complainers who don't spend a dime on the team. They complain about the upper deck but don't fill the lower bowl. They say put a winning team out there and still don't go.

The argument is an assanine one. Fans go to Busch Stadium which is way worse than Comiskey. They go to parks around the league that are equal to or worse than Comiskey. Sox fans are few and far between.

What you are saying is that Cubs fans would still go to Wrigley if the Sox were there but Sox fans SUCK! They can't support a team. That is what the thread is about.

Buehrle needs to come up big tonight. 3 up in the loss colum, if they manage just to win 2 of 6 against the Tribe, they will still win the divison.

Yes I am sure they would sell out Wrigley. Half the people in the stands wouldn't watch the game, but that would be no different from a Cubs game. The fact of the matter is a Cubs game is a big frat party, not a baseball game.

Or is it that the majority of Sox fans are working class people who would rather allocate their money into other things in life that may be more important. How dare you judge people for the way they spend their money! Not everyone is a hardcore fan. And its a fact that the majority of baseball fans in chicagoland are cubs fans. So theres even less of a spending base to draw from.....

I have had a few people tell me that Cubs fans suck because all they do is drink. And I must say that is total crap, what’s wrong with drinking at baseball games? The reason I respect the Cubs and Wrigley is because of all the drinking going on. I wish every sporting event was played in the worlds largest bar.

What’s wrong with going somewhere just to drink? They are all fans, but they all like to drink heavily while being fans. And for that I respect them

Again there is nothing wrong with that, but just because the Cubs draw more fans, doesn't mean they have "better" fans, they just have more of them.

Yes I have, and that's why I go to at least 5 Cubs games a year.

That is such a friggin joke. You see as many SUX fans with cell phones as you do at Wrigley.

I know hard working blue collar fans of both teams.

The fact is White Sox fans are not true fans - they don't go to games! Now if they went to games and left in the 7th inning that is their choice.

Your argument is what makes a fan - that is fanatic who supports the team - the White Sox fans are barely that.

Who is 2.5 up in their divison? Who is playing games with no meaning? I think that's all that really matter. The fact is the Cubs have bad fans who don't care about games, and the Sox just have no fans.
