We must think alike...I was searching info on concussions to see when he should be back. He didn't lose conciousness, did he? Maybe they are going to let him warm up and see how he feels? Maybe they'll let Cochran start and insert Bruce to give the team an emotional lift.

I want Bruce in there...although his safety and health are much more important than the game.

Ditto!!!Stutz did say gameday decision.
Go RRRockets!!!
If he is hurt enough that it is a gameday decision, maybe it is better to let him watch from the sidelines against an OOC opponent and let him have 10 extra days to get healthy before hosting Eastern Michigan.

I know that puts us in a bad position against Fresno State and this is our game to prove we can play against good OOC teams on the road, but winning the MAC Championship and going to a Bowl Game is probably viewed as being more important within our football program. Sure we want to get that national recognition, but the football program has to be looking at winning the MAC and playing in a Bowl Game as their top goals of the season.

Nothing against Cochran because I think he is going to be a very good QB for us, but the offense just seems to be much more confident when Bruce is in the game, compared to when Clint is. This will be some great experience for Clint though and that will be huge for next season when we play 3 BCS schools at the start of the season.
If Bruce is still suffering effects from a concussion, don't you dare play him. Tonight's game means little to the Rockets, and the last thing you want to do is play with a kid's brain.

That's exactly how I feel. It should go without saying that a football game is not worth the health of anyone involved in it.
I had a concussion when I was a kid. Took an ill advised jump on the monkey bars and landed flat on my back hard. I had virtually all of the symptoms listed on the left side of that chart and was immediately rushed home prone on a Radio Flyer. 03-lol

Trust me--if Bruce had those symptoms he would not have been able to walk straight enough to get to the locker room, let alone go back into the game. Hopefully he'll be recovered enough by now to get some PT. But, this is certainly no time to take a chance on getting another one.

There's no substitute for 2 years of starting experience, but if our receivers catch the dang ball Clint should be fine. I think his worst enemy will be the early jitters.

I think executing and making plays immediately will be the key. With a team at Fresno's level there isn't time to juke around or stand back on your heels trying to decide what to do. You've got to see the play and make it NOW. It took us 3 quarters to begin getting up to speed against BC, but by then it was way too late.
He was talking fine on the trip home from the game - no evidence of concussion

All this concussion discussion (hey, I rhymed!) got me thinking......there are doctors on the sidelines. If BG had a concussion he would have displayed symptoms during and after the Temple game. They would never had let him play nor would he be able to play. Shoot...he came back in and led a couple more drives and even rushed for a TD in the 4th quarter.
Well--technically, isn't this "concussion" thing a message board rumor? I know it's shown up on a couple of the media orgs as an "unconfirmed rumor," but that probably means they picked it up off of the message boards themselves.
HuronDave, who runs MACREPORTONLINE, claims that he talked on the phone to an insider at Toledo and they told him Bruce is not playing tonight.
If the concussion was a bellringer it would make sense that Bruce would have gone back into the Temple game if it was his first.Going by the guidelines if it was his first and it was minor then he should be cleared for tonight. It would have made sense to keep him out of practice.Stutz did say it was a # of things so the concussion, with the shoulder, and ribs(whatever the other injuries) maybe it would be better to let him heal up over almost 3 weeks for MAC play.
