I've got a good friend that just opened a new restaurant in Oxford. Pervert that I am (not that that has anything to do with this thread, right witty?), I don't even know the name but I've been invited for a steak dinner. I'll have to connect with you folks that are in and around Oxford and maybe met you there.

The guy's name is Russell French. Does anybody know the name of his restaurant? He's managed some 'fine eating' establishments in the Bahamas, Charleston SC, Hilton Head, NO and now owns this one.

There are so many new ones up there these days, and I don't really know any of the new owners by name. I thought you might mean Oxford Steak Company when you mentioned a steak dinner, but it's been there for several years now...outstanding steak place, BTW.

Obviously, I haven't stayed in close contact with my friend. He has only been open for 6-8 months. It's on the square - somewhere. His older brother used to have a place called Sid and Harry's. (Sid was/is the brother.)

I'll find out what the name is.

Do that, because if the place is any good, I'll just have to sample it when I'm up there for a hoops game.

My buddy is supposed to call me shortly or is that midgetly? Anyway, I'm going to see if he will work up a deal for a 'select' group of folks - sometime TBA.

Okay, I know where that is. It's in the old Smitty's location. I was noticing it when I was up for the Egg Bowl last week. Cool. Yeah man, maybe we can all get a group together up there sometime.
