From the Columbia President's letter:
"Over the past days, there have been too many examples of intimidating and harassing behavior on our campus. Antisemitic language, like any other language that is used to hurt and frighten people, is unacceptable and appropriate action will be taken. We urge those affected to report these incidents through university channels. We also want to remind everyone of the support available for anyone adversely affected by current events."

I wonder if the attackers were MAGA Republicans?
I don't think of this as a red-team/blue-team issue. More of an Islam/Judaism issue.

I think most of the protesters are young liberals, and would tend to vote D in other times. I think few, if any, would tend to vote R at any time.
Since the effort is by young liberals to shame a D president and D Congresspeople to make policy changes beneficial to Hamas, I think this is wholly a Blue team issue.
More than willing to listen to any evidence that the Young Republicans are involved.

Definitely a blue team issue. If anything, Republicans are either pro-Israel (or at least pro-biblical Zionism) or anti-Israel, anti-Palestine and anti-funding other nations' wars.
Personally, I think the protestors have a point. the Israeli military lost the plot a long time ago through their sloppy warfare that kills a bunch of civilians and humanitarian volunteers. The unfortunate thing is that some (not all) of these protestors are barely concealing their anti-semitism/love of Hamas, et al, rather than just simply focusing on the plight of Palestinian civilians.
But it will continue on in the Middle East and Eastern Europe thanks to our taxpayer-funded aid packages that continue to ignore actual American citizens!

These protesters belong in jail.
Antisemitism will not be tolerated in Texas. Period.
Students joining in hate-filled, antisemitic protests at any public college or university in Texas should be expelled.
Gotta love seeing a Governor saying protestors should be in jail…

Hundreds of protesters around the country have been arrested so far...
You aren't one of those progressives that believe that breaking the law is ok as long as you agree with the protesters doing it, are you?

Why does he need to highlight a crime? If they should be arrested, they should be arrested. What other attitude should the head of the executive branch take toward criminal behavior?

Why does he need to highlight the crime for him to advocate for them being arrested? How about because one must be accused of committing a crime to be arrested. Instead, Abbott is coming across as if the sheer act of protesting or being antisemitic is sufficient cause for the government to arrest you. That’s a pretty bad look if you ask me.
Notice how he doesn’t say something like “these protestors who were trespassing,” or “these protestors who were disturbing the peace,” or anything else indicating that they were acting in a criminal way.
Can you tell me what criminal behavior they were exhibiting from that tweet?

"Today, our University held firm, enforcing our rules while protecting the Constitutional right to free speech," he [the UT President] continued. "Peaceful protests within our rules are acceptable. Breaking our rules and policies and disrupting others’ ability to learn are not allowed."
Also, from Abbot, the full quote:
"These protesters belong in jail," Abbott wrote. "Antisemitism will not be tolerated in Texas. Period."
Isn't crime + antisemitism a hate crime? It was Blue Team that promoted the idea of hate crimes a few years back. Does it not suit them now?
Speaking for myself, I cannot see how any person can be on the side of the people who committed unprovoked, willful, and premeditated rape, murder, and kidnapping. But some are, and they are Blue through and though.

The police were already arresting people for reasons already reported by the media. His post came after that readily available information. No, he didn’t state the blooming obvious.

I’d love to know what connections Abbott has made by the time he sent that tweet, which was near real time.
