This seems like an interesting video that I'll have to watch tomorrow, but the rest of you night owls can discuss among yourselves.

RE: The voice of cfb - BigTen vs ACC vs SEC tv ratings
The biggest surprise takeaway that the time slot does not matter as much as these other 3 factors in order of importance:
1 Channel
2 Rank vs Rank (the higher the better)
3 A winning record

He also list several teams that are exceptions to the above; teams that draw viewers relative to the 3 main contributing factors and those that don’t get the viewers despite meeting the 3 main contributing factors (Wake, UCF).

He also mentions some of those who watch are not cfb fanatics, but would watch because they are from Florida, Alabama, Kansas, etc. maybe in the same way people will watch the Olympics or World Cup because their country is playing. A person from Massachusetts’s does not identify with a snooty Jesuit school BC, so they don’t watch BC.

He also said that sports betting was not a major factor in viewership.

These are all Tony Altimore’s points, it’s not necessarily my own feelings.

My whole life, decades before the sports betting apps, I've know tons of people that only watch sports because they are betting on it. And they'll watch any sport because they have a bet on it. It may not be a major factor 25%ish or more but it is a factor 5%-10%. IMHO.
