What schools recruit the Metroplex well…Interviews with DFW HS Coaches
The Athletic posted an article today which was a summary of comments made by metroplex HS football coaches on who is doing a great job recruiting their schools. Articles like this are usually behind a paywall but I was able to read the entire piece

Two comments were made that Rice does a good job, even though their academic standards are a limiting factor. Lots of love for UT (Sark) and Oklahoma. A&M was stiffed a bit because of Jimbo. SMU was always mentioned that they recruit heavily and effectively in the area but not a single mention of TCU. OK State was not effective and Colorado is non-existent. They said that Sark was the 2nd coming of Mack Brown with the way he treats the coaches, players and family members.

The conversation also drifted into the challenges presented by NIL $$. They were critical of A&M throwing $$ around and not doing the hard work on the ground. UTSA,Texas State and UNT were given kudos by several coaches, in particular Kinne.

All in all a very interesting read, a few somewhat self-serving comments by some of the coaches but it is worth taking 15 minutes to digest.
