"The SEC is the Plan B"

Start it at 14:00 and maybe run it through 18:00. Doug Rohan (FSU alum/lawyer) is a guest on this podcast and he has talked to many influential FSU people, he made the above comment.

Until now I've only heard the B1G as being the preferred destination by the majority of the commoner FSU fans, but it seems that sentiment is shared by the B1G mover and shakers at FSU.

32:50 Doug Rohan thinks (predicts) a deal is reached during the summer, but not made public until August 15-24 that FSU would pay between $150-180m and the ACC would get FSU for all the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

RE: "The SEC is the Plan B"
As much as I’d like the Big 10 to be Florida St’s plan A, I’m almost certain they are using the Big 10 as leverage for their real goal, the SEC.

I pointed out on another thread that UVA, UNC, GT, FSU, Miami, and ND would be a huge move towards a true national footprint. Florida St would stand out in the Big 10 and could use their uniqueness to win. Alas, the cultural synergy with the SEC is much too strong. There’s so many instant rivalries if they go there.

I would be a little surprised if FSU goes to the SEC if the B1G is also holding an offer. There are some that seem to be in know that the SEC and B1G have met several times recently and are already strategizing and dividing up the next round of realignment. The thumbnail is a little bit over the top clickbaitish.

I do believe this to be true just as I believe that FSU has back channel talks with other conferences.

The video below is from someone who is better connected than your average YouTuber, based on what he knows he makes some (for funzees) predictions on who goes where.

I agree that I think the B1G is probably plan B for FSU. The piece I may disagree with you about is that the instant rivalries in the SEC would be better than the B1G. To me, FSU vs. USC, FSU vs. Michigan, FSU vs. Nebraska just "feels" right. Maybe it's my bias, but feel those are great games. Additionally, you add Miami and I feel they would fit in the B1G just as well as the SEC. I honestly believe the 2 advantages the SEC has over the B1G is cultural synergy like you mentioned and travel. But I do see some advantages with the B1G. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Not betting on the B1G, but would love to be surprised.
