Academic All-MAC Basketball Teams
I guess I never paid attention to the disparity between the men's and women's academic All-MAC teams before, but was surprised by the numbers.
Women: 53 total players. Every school at least 1 (Miami & Buffalo 1 each were the fewest). UT had 7. NIU the most with 9
Men: 14 total players. 4 schools with none (BG, Buffalo, CMU & Miami). UT tied for the most with 3.
Looked back and in recent years the men's team was larger (20-some) but never near the 53 number the women had this year. Does this say anything about MBB recruiting or the portal? I don't know.
Anyway, the UT players:
Lorentsson, Maddox & Simmons
Cook, Curry, Garcia, Goss, Mikonowicz, Noveroske & Wiard
Great work to those that made the team.
