Take Drew from Baylor and they can go back to their rightful position

If Baylor loses Drew, they could always rehire the previous coach.

I’m not sure why anyone would want the UK job. They will never match the expectations of the fan base in the current SEC. Too many good teams.

Oats was .500 in the SEC just two seasons ago. Wildcat Nation would have run him outta town.

Sounds like you're afraid he's going to jump.

Sort of ironic that Alabama gets both ends of the coaching turnstile this year with Saban retiring and the hiring of DoBoer, and now Oats quite possibly getting poached.

Actually, I’m fine with whatever. Bama was very up and down this season. The Final 4 run was fun to watch but there were several 20-30 point beat down losses late in the SEC schedule this season. When the 3s are falling it’s awesome. When they aren’t, it’s ugly.

I’d be interested to see who Bama would pull in next.

Coaching carousel insider Trilly Donovan apparently believes Baylor coach Scott Drew will be Mitch Barnhart's first call. I still think its Oats but we'll see.

A Bama football opening and Kentucky basketball opening is insane. Helluva year to be an agent.

It's Kentucky, every top coach in America is under consideration and most will use it to get a raise. Here is my short list:
Scott Drew
T. J. Otzelberger
Chris Collins
Mark Pope

Worth mentioning that St. John's head coach Rick Pitino said this a few weeks ago on Pardon My Take.

Hurley, Drew and Oates could all get significant raises, either from Kentucky or because of them. And now Kentucky has plenty of powder to blow on this hire. It seems unlikely that they'll need to go outside of those 3 to get their man.

Kentucky pays more than anybody else, and Hurley only makes $5m a year. If he's not at least in the conversation then he needs a new agent.

UK beat Alabama 117-95 and that was only because UK let up the last 8-9 minutes after it was 104-67.

He’ll leverage it for a big time raise (he was getting one after this run anyway) but he’ll stay at UConn. It’s going to be Drew or Oats.

So what you are saying is you can't believe anybody would want the Alabama football head coach job?

People realize Arkansas is the 2nd best job in the conference right? It’s a drop from Kentucky but not as big of one as people are making it out to be. My guess is he’s tired of dealing with the hate from the fan base/BMDs and decided he’d take his system to a conference rival to stick it to them. Who knows the move might rejuvenate him and lead him to a resurgence. Ofc Kentucky fans are rejoicing as well. Will be interesting to see which program fares better the next five years.

I’m sure it’s a good job. The SEC is strong in all sports thanks to football. I was just knocking how pathetic big corporations are in 2024.
