The Division Within the LGBT Community Continues to Grow
Quote:In 2022, the rift forming within the LGBT community became awfully noticeable with more and more gays and lesbians suggesting that maybe it's time to kick out the "T."

Lesbians, in particular, began speaking out about their rejection of transgender people in their spaces and how some lesbians were even being pushed out. "Lesbian erasure" became a real worry and joint publications wrote a joint statement condemning the invasion of men identifying as women into their biologically female spaces.

(READ: There Is a Massive Rift Forming in the LGBT Community)

Later that year, this sentiment that the "T" doesn't belong among the "LGB" grew. A trending hashtag, "#LGBKickOutTheT" appeared on Twitter. This happened after reports began surfacing of men who identified as women were going into lesbian bars and attempting to get these lesbians to engage in sexual intercourse with them, shaming and pressuring them into it if they had to.

(READ: It's Definitely Time for the 'LGB' to Kick out the 'T')

This sentiment has only grown since to the point where now, former gay and lesbian activists are expressing their regret for opening the door to the modern transgender and gender-fluid movements. One woman, in particular, expressed her regret for fighting for equal rights for gays and lesbians openly on TikTok.

This sentiment is easy to understand.

Many gays and lesbians, including the ones I've known personally, have always held a "live and let live" mentality. Many merely wanted to be able to have the same rights as everyone else, which is fine. In a free society, people should be able to live their lives as they wish so long as they're not forcing it on anyone else.

However, the activist community grew hubristic, and with the enforcement of gender-fluid politics and agendas became the avenue through which more control could be gained. The call to "live and let live" has long been abandoned and now the LGBT activists of today want to force themselves on every aspect of society from schools to elected office.

This is a far cry from what many of yesterday's activists were aiming for.

Contrary to popular belief, the LGBT community is not a one-size-fits-all kind of place. Political beliefs run the gambit and you'll find quite a bit of nuance on issues from one person to another. In the end, many people who consider themselves members of that community don't ultimately make being gay or lesbian the most important thing about themselves, and you'll find this sentiment more common the older a person in that community is.

However, today's activists have made that the only thing that's important about that individual, which is very common in leftist thought. Their belief is that a person's identity comes first, middle, and last.

This is part and parcel of the woke movement which now stands on the shoulders of a movement built for the purpose of being left alone. It's now been coopted and is being used as a movement to force people into submission.

Those people in the LGB community have my sympathies, but it should be understood that this was something predicted long ago. Historically, very few movements for freedom truly resulted in freedom. Most become institutionalized and are used as tools to gather power.

That's not to say we shouldn't all be equal as described by our Constitution, but few movements stay innocent, and the ones that do typically die right after they accomplish their purpose. The gay rights movement never had an end date and as such, it's now being used for a different purpose.

The slippery slope that the left always claims is nonsense and a strawman.

So if a Trans woman (a man who thinks they are a woman) is still attracted to other women, does that technically make that thing a lesbian too?

So they would be like a LT or a TL on the scorecard?

This is a really good point. Seems like Hollywood has started making their LGBTQ+ characters those people for whom, rather than a part of themselve, defines them.

RE: The Division Within the LGBT Community Continues to Grow
That's a really well-done piece. It pretty much sums up my feelings towards the little trans weirdos. In my experience, I've found that gays, both male and female, who are not defined by their sexual preferences, are typically decent people, if not at least somewhat liberal, but not "liberal" like the left of today, mind you.

I worked with two lesbians at Bellsouth, not in a relationship with each other, and they were both delightful people. One of them might support trans rights, but I doubt it. The other? No way. She is as normal as you or I; she just happens to have had bad luck with men and steered herself toward women. She is also a Cherokee Indian. I met her in the 80's and worked with her all the way up until I retired in 2016. I never once heard her complain, nor did I ever once know her to try to be a check mark on a page somewhere to satisfy some metric no one ever heard of 30 years ago.

I think I’ve shared this before, but gay guy i work with summed it up pretty well. He has always been what you would call effeminate, but that does not mean he wants to be a woman. He likes men, he doesn’t want a man who gets reassigned as a woman. If he wanted a woman he’d be straight.

He’s a little concerned that a lot of young boys who would eventually grow up to be gay men are going to be unnecessarily transitioned.

Gender dysphoria is a mental illness. Your body says you are one sex but your mind believes you are another. That kind of disconnect from reality is classic mental illness. Their illness should be treated, not accommodated. Bring back the mental hospitals and get these people out of society.

RE: The Division Within the LGBT Community Continues to Grow
As noted previously, I live in an area where there is a much higher then normal concentration of gay people. It's been like that for decades. They are not, nor ever have been, anything but respectful citizens in the community.

They live their lives, they are not victims, and they are not looking for special treatment.

Ironically, they celebrate one "Pride day" every year on the 1st Saturday of May and it is obnoxious, but the people who make it that way do not live in the area, they come from other parts of the state and surrounding states. The locals from the gay community don't participate by and large and think it is a spectacle (in a bad way).

Mentally ill doesnt mean bad person necessarily.

Flat tire outside insane asylum
A man gets a flat tire outside the fence of an insane asylum. While he’s changing the tire he sees a patient on the other side of the fence observing him so he hurries.

He gets the flat off and puts the spare on, but since he was rushing to get out of there, he accidentally drops all 4 lug nuts down a drain.

While he’s standing there staring at the spare with no lugs to secure it, scratching his head, he hears the patient on the other side of the fence say, “Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!”

He calmly replies, “Yes?” The patient inquires, “Whatcha doin?” He explains his predicament and the patient asks, “Why don’t you just take one lug nut off the other 3 wheels and put them on the spare to get you where you’re going?”

The man, surprised, says, “That is a really good idea. Why they got you locked up in there? You’re really smart.” The patient replies, “I’m crazy, not stupid.”

For the record I do not necessarily think Gay and Mentally ill go together.

I do think Transgender is a Mentally ill condition however.

You don't treat an anorexic by giving them a tummy tuck. You don't treat gender dysphoria by cutting off a child's body parts. Not if you actually want to help them.

There's a difference between having non-standard sexual preferences, non-standard clothes preferences and not accepting your body. The last is a mental illness.
Drag queens are not mentally ill. They are just weird. Full on trans are mentally ill and need help, not surgery.

It is awful how it is being promoted to children. Teen years are tough enough without throwing all this stuff at them. I suspect you would find the overwhelming majority of trans teens are lonely kids who don't fit in and consciously or not, are looking for attention. They are desperately seeking away out of experiencing what is normal for a lot of teens-having trouble fitting in.

Meh, I think there's a little mental illness in being gay. Not nearly as much as the rest of the alphabet groups, but enough.

There's this gay dude at the office the city provides for me. He's a funny dude and absolutely hates the letters after the Q in LBGQ. He is attracted to men, not men who think they're women. He feels like the movement has been coopted by a bunch of weirdos. When he made that statement, I jokingly asked, "You think they're even weirder than you?" to which he replied, with a laugh, "No one is weirder than me, but these people have elevated it to an art form." He tells me that he and almost everyone he knows in the gay community hate how the trans movement has, in just a few short years, screwed up everything.

When I was in my teens and early 20s, if someone had told me there would come a day that I wouldn't hate the gays, I would have laughed in their faces. Now, make no mistake, I still think it's wrong, or there wouldn't be sayings like "that's as wrong as two boys fuqn", but I don't hate the queers anymore. I never really HATED them to begin with, I was more disgusted by them than hateful of them.

I know personally as I grew older and learned of the world, they're are straight people doing a lot weirder schiff than gay people. Echoing the sentiment of most in the thread, most gay people I know you wouldn't know because it isn't something they are openly talking about. One of my coworkers the only way you'd know he was gay is because of the name of his spouse.

Every group of humans is going to have the extremes. The gays have the flambouyant ones and straights have the guy who loudly bragging about his bar accomplishments to people who don't care to hear about it.

Act professionally in the work place, and choose who you associate with outside of that and most people will get along just fine.
