Make him get assistants who actually recruit and know the portal exists.

I think it’s a good move for both him and Rice. He’s a quality guy, and I wish him and Rice much success.

I think Lanier is a great hire. Definitely appreciated his time at GSU. I'm still surprised SMU let him go that quickly.

Looks like they had their eye on someone bigger: USC's Andy Enfield. They fired a coach that won 20 games this season for one that won 15.

Enfield's probably good enough to keep SMU out of the basement of the ACC, but I wouldn't expect much beyond an NCAA tournament appearance every other year. He had all the resources at USC and still managed to win just 60% of his games.
