Correct, Dusty is headed to Ann Arbor.

That was a good move by Dusty May last year to run another year at FAU before jumping. He knew he could get a better job than what was available.

I posted this on the Coaching Carousel thread:

Outstanding hire for Michigan. Dusty May earned what is a tremendous opportunity. Congrats to both Michigan and May and good luck to FAU finding a quality coach (and congrats on the last two strong seasons).

The only question is does FAU relegate back to an FIU level program (their historic twin)?

No. They'll never sniff another Final Four, but they'll be a upper-division AAC program.

May did more with less, 2 years in a row. He’s a winner. Good hire by Michigan. And I agree that he was smart to wait a year.

Upper-division AAC program? That's not saying much. I mean Temple made the AAC final and they weren't even .500 this year!

I will have to see it to believe it. Many of times Marshall played there and there might of been 300 fans. Schools like them ( in major areas with other things to do) have to win and win big to keep the crowds coming.

Let's see how many of FAU's starters follow May to Michigan.

That is basically a sellout though!

Most Michigan faithful are very happy about this. Apparently John Beilein helped lure him away from Louisville. Hopefully we’re back on track.

Louisville has reportedly been turned down by Scott Drew, Mick Cronin and, now, Dusty May.

Wonder who they pursue now. Will Wade? Kevin Keatts? Saw Shaheen Holloway's name also mentioned.

Check out Holloway's improvements year over year. Not only is his time at St Peter's inspirational, but he improved by 4 games at Seton Hall this year and they should have been an NCAAT team. He might be more comfortable in the NYC area, however, and it's hard to blame him if so. Will be interesting to see who finally says yes to Louisville.

How was he not hired away after their Final 4????

Makes sense. Played at Indiana, coached at Eastern, Florida, Final 4 appearance. Checks a lot of boxes

Louisville either wasn't willing to pay $3.75m a year for 5 years, or Michigan is now a better destination. Neither of those is particularly encouraging if you're a Louisville fan.

No one at UCLA can figure out where the Cronin to Louisville talk is coming from? Cronin makes $4 million annually, he has a $20 million dollar buyout, and he loves living in Southern California. No one wants him to leave, and he doesn't want to leave.

Well Michigan is not a better destination than Louisville if a coach wants to win, so that can be ruled out.

#Mickisthepick was trending for a reason. UL folks believed it was realistic possibility.

Respectfully disagree. Louisville is a blue blood from the past but is not very accomplished lately. Michigan has a good track record over the last 15 or so years and has major resources. Yes, basketball is second fiddle to football, but there is fan and alumni support and plenty of money.
