“He’s an excellent player,” Ernst said. “Sometimes the first thing people do to identify the best players in the league is they go to scoring. He might not be the leading scorer in the league, heck he isn’t even the leading scorer on his team. He averages 15 points a game. But that’s where everything starts when you go against Walsh. I don’t even think there’s any teams in the Big Ten that have a 6-7 point guard. And it’s not just that he’s tall, he’s an excellent passer. Today, he had 11 assists and zero turnovers. He’s one of the best defenders in the league, so he’s a two-way player and can play both ends.”
