I made that same mistake once when dealing with a new tech. He came off as just another hick from MS so I kind of dismissed him as such. I soon learned otherwise, he was one of the sharpest people I ever supervised and very quickly rose up the ladder.

Thats when i use it too. I watched five young engineers, PEs, spend about 30 minutes trying to get a product to work. I walked over, pulled out my pocket knife, stirred it up and they watched in amazement when the product worked correctly.

Jesse debates a Rasta professor in African American studies. He really seems like a nice person. He’s polite, well-spoken, and is not a screaming, in your face radical like some younger ones. But he’s definitely drank the koolaid. He doesn’t seem to believe all of it quite as deeply as many, because he’s gone to school, has a good job and probably lives a comfortable life.

He does not believe ALL white people are racist.
He condemned how some black people also discriminate against darker skinned people too.
He seems to genuinely try to understand Jesses questions and answer them, like how and why there was so many more black professionals before desegregation etc.

Jesse asked him, if black people did what white people and jews did and got married, taught their kids to be responsible and respectful, if the fathers worked and provided and the mothers cared for the children, wouldn’t black people be better off?
