Rockets had the home energy and got a few calls. loved how we stepped up again. great energy from the team staff fans. Hannah went down hard on that final rebound. can't really fault her. she responded quickly and nearly got the pass off in time. good win for record books over a strong big east team at Savage. rocket women with yet another big game to play in March in Washington. if the travel isn't too bad I give us a shot. Q or Wiard will prob need to have a big game. we beat SJ with neither near their best.

In our last 3 games we shot 24%, 27% and 21% on threes.

RE: WBIT
Interesting career stats, going into yesterday's game (NCAA hasn't updated the lists with yesterday's totals yet):

Q was:
6th among active DI players in career points
8th in FGs made
20th in FTs made
38th in games played

Soph was:
13th among active DI players in career assists
13th in games played
23rd in FT percentage
26th in FTs made
69th in points

Sammi was:
47th among active DI players in career rebounds

And, Soph has now moved into 7th place on the UT scoring list, passing Kelly Savage and Kim Sekulski in recent games. She also passed Mariella Santucci to move into 5th all-time in assists

Sammi moved past Liz Meiring and Lucretia LeGault in recent games to move into 4th place all-time in rebounds.

Great win for UT. Very proud of this team as we all should be. This tourney is a tough run against really good teams who could all have warranted playing in the NCAA tournament. Great field IMHO.

Women representing UT so well. Love it!!! UT can take WSU. Take care of business. UT is a confident team.

The Rockets are 2-1 all-time against the WSU Cougars, but interestingly enough they have never played them in Pullman. The last time was in 2000 at a WSU-hosted tourney played in Spokane where the Rockets handled the Cougars 77-61. The Rockets were led by Courtney Risinger and Kahli Carter who each scored 16.

The previous year, WSU played in Savage and were thoroughly beaten by the Rockets 79-59 behind Jennifer Markwood's 21 points and 11 rebounds. Tara Overitis added 19

The only WSU win in the series came in Hawaii of all places at the Rainbow Wahine Classic, way back in 1989, in a 76-67 WSU win. UT led by as many as 9, but four Rockets fouled out including both of the Sekulski twins. Kelly Savage led UT with 22.

I have all the scores compiled for UT games back to the beginning.

I have been trying to collect box scores and other game-day stories for all the Rocket games for a while now. The box scores on the UT website only go back to the 2001 season, so for prior to that I have been searching Blade archives and other sources, but that is slow going. Had not made it back to 1989 yet, but the info above for that game is from the Blade article.

Wow - that is remarkable. You are a true archivist for UT sports!!!!! Tremendous dedication to be sure. A great resource for this board and the University sports program. Thank you.

UT-WSU winner plays Illinois@Tulsa winner, Tulsa is a 3 seed but has benefited from the 1 and 2 in their bracket getting upset in round 1 and gets a 3rd home game. On the other side a Philly tussle w #1 V'nova and #3 St Joes while #1 Penn St plays #2 Miss St

WSU just lost their AD. Keep Blair locked up in Savage, don't let him anywhere near Pullman!
