RE: Spring Bball Transfer Portal Opens For Business...
I am sad to see Tyler leave. By the end of the season he and Andre were my favorite players to watch.

Roster building and player development in this era is gone with the wind. What are the odds that young players like Wilson, Simmons and Lewis stick around for another 2 or 3 years? Each year is a new pot of stew.

The Age of the Transfer Portal as Cochran just tweeted out that Coaches can "contact his agent" if interested!

Will miss TC poking the ball loose at either end of the court !!
Always disruptive at times to opposing teams offensive flow !!

Which MAC school is Cochran headed to next? Going to his 4th school.

This is a blessing in disguise.

Good luck, TC.

Think of the big picture. How is changing colleges every single year going to help this young man in the long run? I can’t think of a single instance in the real world where that turns out well for someone. It’s actually a red flag in most cases. College athletics is a privilege and kids these days are abusing that because they can. Regulate now!

Ra'Heim Moss in the portal now too. Wouldn't doubt if we now see Dante too.

Trouble.

Too bad, but Cochran will be a 6th year guy next year, so baring COVID he would have been done anyway. Presumably he's already graduated, at least once, so he should be allowed to do what he wants. Don't know what prompts him to need to keep moving around, but good luck to him.

Moss does have 2 years left, but next year will be his 6th post-HS, as he played prep ball one year, and then redshirted one. Unsure if he has graduated yet or not, but assuming he has, then good luck to him looking for other opportunities.

It’s a red flag for me in terms of loyalty and being a team player aka team chemistry. All this kid thought about was himself and his next move. There needs to be regulations in place for the transfer portal. What kind of education are these kids actually getting going from different state to state every year? No way Cockran goes pro, so what’s the reason for yet another transfer? Uhhhg so frustrating, I really need to find a new hobby because this is getting tiresome.

RayJ wasn't a multi-time transfer before UT. He started out at Boise, then came to UT.

Yep, "reach out to my agent" says it all.

Wonder if these are about NIL money. Both have probably graduated already.

No doubt this is testing the market to see what their talents can bring. Who can blame them for that?

Kent's Jalen Sullinger and Reggie Bass are in the Portal. Most likely all the eligible MAC All Stars will test the market.

Wow! Didn’t see that coming

I mentioned in another thread that a guy playing for his third MAC school wasn’t concerned with UT’s past failures in the conference tournament. Someone who ought to know better disagreed. Turns out we were both wrong. He’s not concerned with UT at all.

Wow!

Here we go again - after a good year and hope for the future everything is turned upside down. So many questions.

At the same time it seems to me, and I don't follow the sport like many here do, but the portal/NIL think isn't a good thing.

They are trying to ruin college basketball. Money = greed. Greed is a terrible thing.

Former recruit that was posted on this board before - Danilo Jovanovich (PF) is in the portal after stops at Miami (FL) and Louisville, curious to see if the staff gives him a look again. Hardly played at either place.

Moss gone now too??? Sheesh! What's the point of being a diehard fan this day and age, I'm really starting to question it.

No point really. Only reason to watch college sports anymore is if you bet on the games.

I cancelled my ESPN+ subscription after I found out Sunday night they were done. I may never renew (from November to March annually). This isn't how it should work.
