1st real bubble result is Wake beating Notre Dame. Sets up a play in game with Pitt tomorrow now?

I don't recall a time when the NCAAT accounted for the loss of players to injury when selecting teams, how do they even have time to scrutinize that closely?

They’ve been accounting for injuries for a very long time. Each committee member is designated specific conferences to track for injuries, and each team sends the committee a packet with that information.

Villanova needs a last possession 3 to win by 1 over 3-28 322 NET DePaul. That's not an NCAA Tournament team.

The crazy thing is that they could stun Marquette, and they probably secure a spot. Especially if Providence comes up short.

only thing is Kolek not playing might make it where the committee doesn't fully value that win honestly.

Would Longino being a potential scratch for Villanova put it back into perspective, though?

That sort of thing has been happening for at least 20+ years. At least 20+ years. I can't recall specific examples off the top of my head but there has been times where the committee was favorable toward a team that had injuries at various points of the season or in turn negatively when they had a season ending injury before the Tournament.

The most famous example of the latter is what happened to Cincinnati in 2000 when Kenyon Martin broke his leg in the C-USA quarters. They had the resume of a 1-seed, if not the number 1 overall but were punished a seed line for the loss, which still probably wasn't enough. If that wasn't enough, they had a to face a 30-win Tulsa in the second round that was underseeded (in part because they couldn't solve Fresno State any of the 3 times they played that season), so they really got a raw deal from the committee.

Another example of recent years is Villanova in 2021 and the late season injury to their star.

Right, forgot to add to the last post above that teams even try to influence the committee by providing them with information. They'll call a member and remind them that "such and such" player(s) was/were not active for a given game.

Iowa vs Ohio State in an elimination game today (which should be a good game as both teams have played well in the last month). The winner also needs to beat Illinois on Friday to stay in the bubble conversation.

Agree but don't you expect the Committee to shoehorn them in?

The Committee will make sure Ohio State makes it. They've been dreadful all season except for one game.
