Bulls fan coming in peace
Hi All,
Wanted to drop in and say I'm a big fan of Rice and have enjoyed you all in the conference. Admittedly, did not really know much about Rice before except for baseball, but now I love the school and think you're a great addition. Thought Luke was going to singlehandedly beat us last season in football, and that we were going to drop our basketball game against you, but we luckily pulled both out. Your school is incredible, and would love to see your admin invest in athletics and get Rice back on the national map in more than just baseball over the next few years.
Also, slightly jealous that I did not apply for undergrad; however maybe an MBA is in order? Good luck the rest of this school year to your athletics teams, and looking forward to our future scheduled games. I might make the trip in the fall as Houston is an easy flight - so any recs on hotels/places to eat/things to do would be much appreciated.

Hey there! Welcome to the board. That freshman QB of yours is a menace.

Welcome to the board. Our MBA program is top notch, especially for entrepreneurs so I'd say 'bring it on'.
Houston to me is a mini New York (though with some major advantages) with different areas of town giving vastly different experiences... the weather can also impact the quality of some choices (like too hot or too cold to be outside) and food choices that are quite literally among the best in the world.... so your 'ask' begins with a lot more questions.... unfortunately.
The University sits in a very nice part of town, close to some even nicer parts of town, but also not TOO far from some... shall we say... remodeling, lol.
Absolutely you must have some Texas BBQ and I strongly recommend looking in to some of the numerous fusion restaurants in town. You can stay right by campus in the Med Center and frequent the spots in West U for a 'quick' trip... but if you're staying longer and have a car, the options are almost unlimited.

Thanks for the response! Yes have done my research - Jones is a great b-school.
Understand about the weather - living in Tampa I imagine it's a bit cooler but somewhat similar. I've had BBQ in Austin (La Barbecue) and Dallas (Pecan Lodge) and will not pass up brisket - will admit that Memphis style ribs are my favorite though. For Houston (and San Antonio, where I have yet to visit), I'd love to find some quality TexMex. We have decent Mexican here in Tampa Bay, but imagine it's taken up a notch as well in Texas.
