Got a chance to walk through campus today
Saw the new architecture building. It's so ugly it made me want to read The Fountainhead again.

Why do artsy folks have such a fascination with ugly buildings?

As long as it’s not orange, I’m fine with it.

Taste is a funny thing.

Some people think Mark Bradford is an amazing artist. Others think his paintings look like crap whereas Thomas Kinkade paintings are incredible.

I am sure you could substitute other artists in that statement, such as Pigcasso and Hunter.

I did not. The quad had construction fencing all around it.

I did the go find the old bas-relief (if that's the correct term) sculpture that was at Abercrombie that they salvaged for the new engineering building.

I will be happy to see the new iteration of the quad. Frankly, it has looked like crap for many years. It should be the highlight of the campus however the landscaping has looked like garbage for quite some time. Presumably they will be planting things that are more resilient, and are easier to maintain.

Landscaping is the only thing that gets less attention than the athletic department.
