Well this didn’t take long to find a way. Let’s see if the U of Tilman takes advantage.

This whole NIL thing might become a big metaphor to debate the merits and pitfalls of libertarianism. Might need to move this to the quad! 05-stirthepot

RE: NILs and Las Vegas Casinos
I honestly don't understand why/how NIL can claim to be separate from schools if you have players transferring from one top 10 team to another because of NIL. The whole premise was that the NIL was supposed to follow the player, regardless of where they played.

Now I get an argument that a player (and thus their sponsor) would get a lot more exposure from a top 10 team than they would from a bottom 10 team... but are there really meaningful differences in exposure (except as related to the school) from top 10 teams/conferences?

I wonder how many games will be intentionally thrown with the casinos involved.

It will be interesting to see 5+ years out the effect on graduation rates the NIL has.

Is graduation even still a thing for these NIL chasers?

It’s not even a thing for many of the schools. Today schools spend more time bragging about their NIL deals than their team’s GPAs or graduation rates.

Even the media is onboard…..

Mark is retired. And a Coog. I don’t think he would have linked that if he was still working at KRIV.

Mattress Mack funding NIL through betting on UH? It's not far fetched given that he's essentially done the same on the Astros and Texans. I haven't invested any thought into it, but there's probably an arbitrage in there somewhere.
