Just remember that Lunardi is just about the worst at this. There are literally dozens of people on Bracket Matrix who do this out of their bedrooms who are better at bracketology than this guy.

Lunardi is ranked 98th on BracketMatrix over the last 5 years.

I agree he is significantly overrated, but I posted his view because he is the best known "bracketologist". Last I saw, he assigns a 10th seed to FAU.

Presently, the BracketMatrix shows 34% of the FAU picks with a 10th seed or lower. A tenth seed is bubble territory so Lunardi is not an extreme outlier.

The broader point to me is FAU's margin for error is slimmer than many realize. A bad loss or two could eliminate them for at-large consideration for a Selection Committee searching for any excuse to exclude schools outside the P-5 and the BE.

Yeah we suck. Need to fire the AD, men's basketball coach, honestly the football coach too because that is about to be bad bad, and maybe one of two other coaches, softball is win or gone this year type situation for example.

Lombardi is always so hit and miss going into the conference tourney and then tightens it up to fininsh some where in the middle third. The matrix is a way better guide.

Agree. What does Matrix state for the two schools?

Despite the Tigers' dramatic drubbing of UAB, Memphis inched up only three spots in the NET (from 74th to 71st). However, it is enough to state Memphis' at large quest at this time moves from the impossible to the improbable.

The FAU game looms large. The Tigers must win and win convincingly - an exceedingly difficult task.

Going to be a tough game in a rowdy gym. Should be fun.
