Agpalsa to Kansas
Pete Thamel tweeted:

Sources: Kansas is expected to hire Northern Illinois assistant Daryl Agpalsa as the school’s new offensive line coach. He coached the offensive line for Kansas coach Lance Leipold at both UW-Whitewater (2012-13) and Buffalo (2014-18) before going to Northern Illinois in 2019.

That sucks. He was from my hometown in Hawaii.

Regardless, I am happy to see him moving on up in the world.

Good for Agpalsa, he's probably quadrupling his salary with this move.

Last season's O-line improved dramatically from the beginning of the season to the end. His 2021 squad ranks up there with NIU's best.

As for replacements, how about this guy:

or this guy:

Good for him. Just don't pick of our best players during the Spring Portal opening and we are good.

Yeah, Jason O was the first name that came to mind for me.

Without a doubt

Without looking at their depth chart, Kansas had one of the best running games in the country last year and is going to be a big 12 favorite next year. Not sure they’re going to be poaching any linemen of 7-6 MAC teams.

SEC Kentucky took Cox off a 3-9 team. They will make an effort to grab anyone ? they feel can play. I like our 2nd year and incoming class of OLine. They will be looking at that group as well. We need a solid recruiter in Wisconsin, I believe that is where he recruited.

Unfortunately I don't think hes leaving South Alabama as they probably pay more than we could offer and he just took that position in Jan. Would have been the most logical choice though.

While true, that was in the winter transfer window. I’d be willing to bet Kansas has already filled most of their needs. I get the thought, but I don’t think it’s a big worry.

It's the 2020s. You take what you can get. I would imagine it would be easier for Coach Agpalsa to grab developmental players, hidden gems he's recruited this last cycle, or even depth pieces than to go out and throw lines to kids he's never spoken with before. Now I say this with no knowledge of what Kansas has currently. But it wouldn't surprise me if he reaches out to a few kids here.

I'm biased for him. Not many collegiate coaches my skin color from my hometown out there. I'm still going to root for him.

I know a dude who’s great at coaching offensive line. Would be an amazing fit. Goes by Rod C. Wait that’s too specific. R. Carey. 05-stirthepot05-stirthepot05-stirthepot

RE: Agpalsa to Kansas
I thought he was a mid, to below, coach. He never had the oline figured out to start any season. Changes needed to be made every year

I feel like he did less with more, but also more with less.

A frustrating coach. A non-factor for me. But always glad to see a guy get a raise who has NIU ties. Congrats to him.

Hammock needs to make a solid hire here. Will be curious what he does. One major Hammock flaw is he has made some real bad hires in his short career. Hopefully he’s past that. His past few have been good.

I approve this message. How many guys did he coach into the pros from the o line? Would be nice to have an NFL caliber player again.

This sucks but good for him and his family. He left a lot of big capable men to play. I have confidence in Hammock and a solid Oline. He had to know this day was coming.
