We haven’t had to put too much thought into UAB failing and being miserable, it comes naturally.

Not surprising that Walton is being called out there. He had some of the worst body language I've seen in a Shocker uniform at the end of last year. Actively pouting on the floor when someone wouldn't pass to him. He went out with a blaze of glory sending a double bird to the fans on Instagram when he announced his transfer. Then add in the fact that he managed to bounce between 4 schools in one off season... You could see it all coming. He's definitely not their only problem .. but he's definitely one of them.

JQ and Walton are the leaders. But plenty of blame to go around. Jones is a great scorer and rebounder, but he never met an assist he liked.

Several others pouted when they didn't get enough minutes.

And Penny is the ring leader with his crazy ass rotations and sub patterns that nobody else in D1 uses.

Mills was more important than people realize, but his injury was certainly not the only reason we crashed and burned.

Penny taking Brown back 11 games after he quit wasn't smart. Def jealously there, even though he didn't play much.

Others just weren't as good as advertised.

As for other fans taunting Memphis, who cares? I have never said a seriously bad thing about any school here, and I don't get the glee when others fail, especially in conference. We're all in this struggle together, to some extent.

We're all die hard fans of our schools, and all our schools are good universities. Although I do reserve glee when UK suffers, lol. And UTk.

But certainly not everybody in my own conference. I pull for all of you when Memphis isn't playing.

Every fan base has reasonable folks and jackazzes. We just have more of each on this AAC board b/c this is also where our home board resides.

Players quit - a grievous sports and life sin - and it is not the first time. It is utterly indefensible. Losing is one thing, but lack of effort and caring is quite another thing.

I am done with this team until I see results of player work and investment even if it means inserting role players and walk-ons and suffering even more lopsided defeats. Pride in doing one's best is the goal now. Penny should permanently bench the offending players regardless of their latent talent or potential impact on the score.

Of course, my support for the program remains undiminished and the present woes only intensifies doing what it takes for longer term correction.

Penny can join the Pitino pity party.

No, their karma payback is having fans like the one you quoted. That's a death knell for any program.

What are the thoughts on the new coach from the fanbase?

Most are souring pretty quick. Some still holding out hope. I haven't been a fan since Day 1. He does not have a good resume despite the 1 Sweet 16. He's only won 20 games 1 time in his career. His teams don't play defense and in general don't win big games. The one exception was the 2 wins in the NCAA tourney a few years ago. Other than that i think he's won 0 Q1 games and 1 Q2 games his whole career. Seems very likely that his career was built on Max Abmas (and Obanor).

His career will be defined this off season. The recruits he brought in this year have been really bad. He really need to blow the thing up and hit a few home runs in the portal or he's going to lose the entire fan base.

That said, he's here a minimum of 3 years. At that point both Marshall and Brown will be paid off and we will have a chance to actually afford a decent coach if he hasn't turned it around by then.
