Anyone else have some excitement for baseball season? Probably takes a year or two for the new manager to get it going, but bought a bunch of guys with him from UIS.

Akron beat Illinois today lol

I am excited for NIU baseball- watching them get beat pretty bad on ESPN+ now. Great thing about baseball is their is another game tomorrow

Yes.

NIU lost game 1 15-6. I am excited to see wht this new coach can do. He talks a lot about building a pitching staff which has been lacking for years.

Years ago, NIU did as well (no team 1983-90). I assumed he was talking more recently.

Not a great start. Blown out twice 16-6 and 12-2. Run-ruled in both games. Going to take awhile for the new staff.

Lost today 10-4. We have given up 38 runs in three games. Absolutely have been pounded so far…….I wasn’t expecting us to win down there, but, this has been really bad.

Not to sound like an ass but what would make you think bringing guys from DII to DI would be a recipe for success?

I would expect to see some results next season. This season anything over last year in wins will be a success.

Up 7-1 in the series finale

Now up 9-1 T4. It sure would be nice to get a win down there. Abilene Christian is a very strong program, as they typically win 35+ games a year.
