This is a horrid loss for ball state.

That loss takes away even the most minuscule hope of a MAC at large bid to the NCAAs.

Good game for the rockets. They were killed on the boards but that was offset by 23 CMU turnovers and what was probably the best 3 point shooting game they will have this year. Seems generally to me that they are playing better over the past few games. Tonight I thought all of the starters played well and Barnes has developed to an excellent all around player off the bench. They also played good post defense against CMU's 6-5 post player who averages 10 points/game.

Rockets will need their best game in the next stretch of where they play the Sunbelt team, at BGSU, and at home against Ball State. Those will all be very tough games.

Its getting late and I expect the coach will shorten the bench as the season winds down. The freshmen got very little game time this year. I'll be surprised if they all stay around next year. I also worry about Cook. She was a starter the first two years and now she is the third post player in almost every game.

Dykstra and Barnes are bench players and were among the first subs. Minus the 3 5's we rotate with Rinat we play a deep bench. If you watched the final 2 minutes it's not a secret why Fegan or Doherty doesn't play... We played 9 girls over 8 minutes and everyone played the final 2:12.

It depends which 5s leave and choose the senior season again. Hannah said she's coming back. Wiard, Barnes, Q and Goss are the only ones out of eligibility I believe.

Goss has another year of eligibility. So does Curry, but she came in with Wiard, Q, and Barnes and rooms with them. I expect that she will not return. Sure, one of the freshmen may leave, which is fine if it seems like not a good fit here. Dykstra will return, I expect, as she has the opportunity to earn the starting spot at point guard.
