I'm sure they will be off the bandwagon when FAU goes 1 and done or maybe even misses the tourney this year.
SMH. I surmise those fans will be the first to abandon FAU when the Owls return to normality.

Vlad Goldin was abused in the Wichita State game. On one shot he was smacked in the face, on another he was hit twice on the same attempt at a lay-up. Neither of the cases caused a foul (and honestly, I can not imagine how it was not called) Geez, I know he is big and strong but it is not a license at a hack-a-Vlad.

Maybe he should try keeping his mouth shut and playing the game. He spent the game here chirping at players and at fans, too (who shouted Slava Ukraini back at him). He threw elbows and slaps, and got away with most of them. He whined non-stop to the referees.
I believe the term in his language is Pizda malosol’naya.

He should be thanking his lucky star that he isn’t back in Russia.

Are you excusing the full game long fouling by what he said or did not say to other players? As the few moments of violence had showed, he is never the one to start this. And trust me, coming to his aid for me, a Ukrainian-born person, does not come easy.

"Never the one to start this" at 17:34 to go in the second half. Goldin initiates contact with Javian Davis, continues the contact while flailing his arms, stands over Davis jawing at him, and gets knocked on his ass. Pizda malosol’naya.

Goldin without a doubt fouled others WAY more than he was fouled. Wasn't even close. I don't want to hear a single peep out of FAU fans when you literally won a game off of blatantly incorrect calls. Including calls that aren't even judgement calls. The missed shot clock wasn't even close. The refs just blew it and it resulted in 2 points for FAU late in the game.
FAU fans in general were some of the worst i've ever seen (and echoed by others) come through Koch Arena. I actually have higher respect for Memphis fans at this point .. that's saying something. Its a lot of smack talk for a team with literally zero history outside of last year.
I won’t pretend to know Vlad’s game because I’ve really only watched the last few games, but he seems to struggle against physical bigs. He got bullied at UAB and almost appeared like he forgot he’s 3 inches taller than our tallest guy. Didn’t help he pissed everyone off fairly early

In reality Goldin absolutely got fouled much more by the opposition than otherwise. I can recall 4 occasions in the first half against WSU alone where he was fouled and it was not called!

Factually incorrect .. but fits the FAU fanbase from what I've seen so far.

Even the ESPN2 announcers laughed that Vlad got fouled three times on one play (a rebound and two attempts at a put back). None were called.
As for your comment on FAU fanbase, I will leave it on your conscience

You can’t genuinely watch that specific instance and think the UAB player used excessive force and Goldin was just a poor victim. They get tangled up, the UAB player is literally just shuffling his feet with his hands straight in the air and Goldin is flopping around like a fish out of water looking to draw a fouls. Then walks right into Davis’s face after the whistle and then gets a tech for flopping. He did it all game and I think it’s the product of frustration that he got absolutely shut down that game.

That is exactly what happened! You are staring at it and have the gull to suggest otherwise? Now, that is plain silly.
UAB guy throws his hands at Vlad's upper body and pushes as hard as he can. There is no other way to analyze this!

Yikes. Common foul by a UAB player followed by Goldin walking over to stare him down then flop, laugh while on the ground thinking he sold the flop, just to get a tech for flopping lol

But the foul nevertheless. Justifiably called. And that is the point. UAB guy initiates contact and gets correctly called for it. Whatever happens afterwards is a different matter.

I can tell what you are calling excessive force because your first message seemed to imply you thought the original foul was excessive force which I think is absolutely silly. If you are saying the shove is excessive then sure, but it was fully provoked by Goldin and then Goldin tries and continue the antagonization by flopping and gets penalized. There is no good guy in this, but to act as if Goldin was just a bystander who helplessly got roughed up is a joke.

No, I did not even start this conversation. Another poster suggested that Wlad initiated the heavy contact and I disagreed. Excessive or not - it was not even my intention to argue that point.

I started by going off your comment “ But UAB guy initiated the contact and maintained it with excessive force! Talk about being a homer!” which I don’t think I is correct. The original foul was nothing more than a normal physical foul of 2 bigs trying to get position.
