ode to Slappy McDill
Tim Biddle cheered for Cincinnati and loved to watch Cincinnati play basketball. It brought him joy when players did the best for the team and made shots worth 3 points. Tim knew he made people angry but he did not know why. All he cared about was making friends and talking about his favorite team, Cincinnati.

Slappy McDill asked what Tim Biddle did wrong.

He said Tim only rooted for his favorite team, Cincinnati.

He never tried to hurt anyone.

Tim said he loved all of us. Slappy thought that was a good thing not a reason for anger.

And now Slappy too is gone and I am sad.

I will find Tim Biddle and Slappy and we will cheer for Cincinnati, Cincinnati.

RE: ode to Slappy McDill
I made two threads. I only meant to make one. But I made two and I feel bad about it.

I am sorry.

I feel the need to sing the words of EtW's post to the song Fluffy by Ween.

That would make it funny sounding! Saying things in a different way can be fun.
I like to try saying things in funny ways sometimes. Sometimes I say "volcano" but instead of saying it the regular way, I say vol-cah-no. That is fun to do.

Bruce Monnin didn't appreciate my posts. He downvoted me -3. He did it twice. Bruce Monnin is so angry with me, he might have run out of downvotes. But I do not know why.

Bearcats#1 is also angry with me. He downvoted me -3. He said "your brain doesn't work right". I don't understand why he said that. It made me sad.

But oh he will return, to tell us many things

As Jim Piddle, NormanyDuane, and DinoWings

He'll tell us about the city where championships run through

He'll say many simple things to me and to you

His act is pretty stupid, so planned, not improvised.

There was even that one time, he faked his own demise.

But make no mistake, he is not gone forever

Though his act always wears thin, he thinks we won't remember

So fear not Banter Posters. I have nothing more to say.

Until Duane/Tim/Slappy/andwhoeverheisnext posts another day.

RE: ode to Slappy McDill
That is a good poem Bearcatmark. You made it rhyme. I think that is how poems should be. So yours is the best kind of poem. Because it rhymes.

Duane and Tim aren't gone. They will always cheer for their favorite team Cincinnati. They will always want a Cincinnati championship. I will search for Duane and Tim Biddle Bearcatmark! I will look for them and Slappy too.

Once I find them I will tell them Bearcatmark isn't mad. I will tell them Bearcatmark knows they only want to cheer for Cincinnati. Cincinnati.

RE: ode to Slappy McDill
i went to high school with a carl biddle. valedictorian. i think he was lukewarm about a bearcat championship. we hardly knew ya slaps. slappy's a good jazz handle. or better yet, a name for a chicken. we might get chickens, but the backyard's a nature preserve so animals. i'm assembling an impressive collection of names as we speak. uppers, downers, yonders, and now slappy. now i just need some chickens

I wonder where the inspiration for all these colorful internet fictional characters came from?

My guess is it came from the inside of a locker in high school.
