He used to send me texts every Saturday morning telling me "Happy Saturday, peace be with you, for the book says yada yada yada". I don't know why it irritates me the way it does but it does. But who doesn't want well wishes, right? I asked him to stop and to his credit it's now simply "Happy Saturday, peace be with you".

I don't care how others feel about God or religion in general, it's their business and if it brings them comfort then good for them, just don't try to save my soul too by insisting that your way is the only way for me to find favor from God.

Jesus saith unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

There is but one way and one way only to God and that is through Jesus Christ alone. No church, no denomination, no pope and no organization, no holy man and no special set of words or works can save you.

Only genuine faith in the death, burial and Resurrection of Christ alone.

If a person cannot find truth in that, then they are not really seeking truth at all. They are just seeking happiness in their flesh and rejecting Jesus and the truth.

John 11:25

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies.

John 3:36

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

As a catholic I could not agree more This pope is an apostate.

#notmypope

Then...you're not a good Catholic. 03-wink

By your Cathechism you have to agree with everything Popeish.

The Pope is considered infallible in matters of the doctrine of Catholicism. This does not fall under that category. Catholics don't worship the Pope, or the religion, we worship Jesus Christ, the founder of Catholicism.

Jesus did not remotely found Catholicism, Jesus founded Christianity which is not a denomination but a spiritual body of true believers in the Gospel. And those true believers come from denominations and churches all over the world.

In heaven, there are no Catholics, no Baptists, no Pentecostals, no Presbyterians, no Lutherans, no Seven Day Adventists. There are only those washed in the blood of the Lamb by faith alone.

Catholicism is a denomination/sect of Christianity just like all other denominations and sects. did not even come into being until the centuries that followed the first century church. The papacy did not even become a thing until some 600+ years after Christ. It slowly became a man made seat over several centuries.

Biblically there is no such thing as a church or seat/man above all others in Christianity. That is a man made concept that is not Biblical in any shape or fashion.

I'm afraid we won't come to agreement on this topic. There have been Popes from the beginning of the Catholic Church, starting with the original Pope, Simon Peter.

13Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” 20Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.
Matthew 16:13–20

There is only a disagreement on that verse in your imagination. We actually both agree on the verse being truth. The problem is you did not bother to read the other 26 books of the NT that follow it. If you did you would find that Peter never had any authority over the other Apostles, never had authority over the church and was not even the Apostle to the Gentiles but to the Jews after Jesus called Paul to be the Apostles to the Gentiles.

What you are doing is no different than if I pulled an OT verse about animal sacrifice and said "there....so you need to sacrifice an animal for your sins because of this verse." Well if you simply just read the rest of your Bible you find out Jesus would come and be our Passover Lamb and replace those sacrifices for us once and for all.

Its the same exact thing here, if you just read the rest of your Bible you find that Jesus Himself later in Acts hand picked the Apostle Paul and made Him the Apostle of the Gentiles and Peter the Apostle of the Jews. And that Peter never had any authority over any of the others and was never the head of the Gentiles churches.

You didn't bother to read the rest of the NT and your church decided not to tell you this so you are totally unaware of it.

But its written right there in the same book you quoted to me, you have just chosen not to read it and ignore everything on this topic that comes after the Death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus. Its no different than if I pointed to a verse on animal sacrifice and just chose to ignore Jesus and everything that came after the OT law.

Galatians 2:7

"On the contrary, they saw that I (Paul) had been entrusted to preach the gospel to the Gentiles, just as Peter had been to the Jews. 8 For the One who was at work in Peter’s apostleship to the Jews was also at work in my apostleship to the Gentiles"

This is incredibly simple and straight forward, and goes right back to what I said about seeking truth. Its just what the Bible plainly states. But so many people aren't interested in Gods Word, they are interested in their man made traditions. This is also something Jesus chastised the Jews over, placing their man made traditions over the Word of God.

After the cross and Resurrection and the earliest days of the Church, Jesus hand picked Paul to be the Apostle of the Gentiles, to write the majority of the NT and give the Church age Gentiles their doctrine.

Don't take my word for it, just read the book. Its states all this over and over and over again as you get deeper into the NT.

I'm sorry my friend but if you just google this for yourself you will find its just not so. There was no such thing as a pope until 600-800 years after Jesus. The RCC then chose to wirte a "backstory" to posthumously declare all those others bishops and holy men as "popes".

Don't take my word for it, just google it for yourself.

There was no such thing in the first century church, and Peter was never the head of the Gentiles churches.

Again, if you just read the other 26 books of your NT, you will see Jesus chose Paul as the Apostle of the Gentiles.

Capitalism doesn't mean you shouldn't give your time/money to charity.

It just means the government shouldn't be the one forcing you to do it. This pope has said many times that capitalism fails and government should intervene. Considering that over 50% of Italy's economy is the government at 56%https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/...TA/ZAF/IND I'm guessing even less than half capitalist is too much for the pope. Arguing that the government should be providing everything isn't something Jesus said either for that matter.

There's a saying in Spanish which applies, "cosa mala nunca muere". Bad things never die.

If the pope wants to help maybe he should come off some of the multi-trillion dollar treasure in his basement.

Some people don’t understand that the Roman Empire never fell, it just converted to a religion. They burned the Library of Alexandria so they could control the religious narrative. You didn’t get Popes until you stopped getting Emperors. Why, because the transition from an empire to a church. Constantine bastardized Christianity to build and maintain power. The Pope is a relic of that abuse.

why is the Vatican now independent from Italy?! ... maybe, funding of globohomo by fiat required such...

it's tough to transition from religious rule to globohomo-ism ...

IMO, that's all they are, and all this is en macro...

Well AMEN! that someone sees it.

If you read both the book of Daniel and Revelation, Rome is CLEARLY the 4th beast in Daniel and the first beast in Revelation.

Its PAGAN Rome, which was an Empire both before, during and after the cross.

Then in the same chapter of Revelation (chapter 13) a second beast comes out from the land and it has the appearance of Lamb (Christ like/Christian) but speaks like a Dragon (Satan). THAT IS CLEARLY THE PAPACY. And this second beast causes the whole world to buy into and follow after the first beast. The first beast is the actual power and seat of authority.

It also says the first beast appeared to have died, but then people realize it has not died at all.

Its not hard to understand if you know the basic flow of history from Pagan Rome to the Vatican and Papacy and the Holy Roman Empire.

I hope this opens a few posters eyes to this. Its not that hard to grasp yet it seems to confound people.

RE: Pope: Marxists and Christians have a "common mission."
Its this second beast that looks Christian but speaks as the Dragon who will convince the Muslims, false Christians and other religions to come together into a one world religion to worship God "as one". Don't laugh this off, look it up on google right now. They are already meeting with top Muslim clerics, Protestant leaders and other religions with the Vatican leading the way. Eventually the antichrist (the final head of the first beast) will proclaim himself to be God and the second beast (papacy) will tell the world to worship Him as God.

First Beast (Pagan Rome - final Antichrist/one world ruler)

Second Beast (Papacy - False prophet)

Read Revelation 13 for yourself.

Rev 13

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

The pope calls Himself the head of all Christianity and the Vicar of Christ as he simultaneously tells billions of Muslims and atheists that they do not need Christ to be redeemed to God. What is more antichrist than saying that? Jesus said HE alone is the way, the truth and the Life and there is no other way to the Father but through Him. The pope says .....nah, none of that is true, you don't need Jesus at all.

He's a commie, he is a Marxist and he tells people the Gospel is not true and not needed. Yet the whole world recognizes him as the head of global Christianity.

He has the appearance of the Lamb, but speaks as the dragon.

And he wants a one world global order, and all religions to come together as one.

I am not Catholic, but I do find it interesting that the prophecies given by the Vision of Our Lady at Fatima included the number of the Pope who would betray the Church and Christ, and that number supposedly falls upon this one.

Sorry times we are living in now. God saw the faithful through the great travail of WWII, now we must have faith in God's eternal promises. Until Christ and the Kingdom with a new Heavan and new Earth comes it only gets worse.

I've always found that interesting as well. Whether its pope Francis himself who is the final pope or one that follows him....Francis is a clear vision of what the second beast is and does at the end.

(I'm gonna go into a more advanced prophecy explanation here for a moment, so if anyone is lost on this its cool and doesn't really matter. This is really for those who are deep into Bible prophecy)

I think what throws people is they don't see how events like Rev 13 play out both as a 2000 year event and then also come to a head in one final antichrist ruler and one final pope/false prophet. Not all the popes are bad and have said the things Francis says and denies the Gospel as He does.

When we talk about the 2 beasts, its BOTH the seat, the antichrist kingdom/system, and its also manifests into one final head and person at the very end for each. I think people naturally want it to be one or the other (as did I in the past) but the more I have studied the scripture the more obvious it has become that its both. And that follows the pattern of the prophets throughout the Bible.

Were are supposed to be able to see how its has played out for 2000 years.....Pagan Rome to the Vatican and Holy Roman Empire and also see how it manifests into a final play out and fulfillment at the very end.

This is how prophecy played out throughout the Bible many different times. You see foreshadowing and forerunner and then a final event and fulfillment that actually repeated the long play-out into one final shorter play-out and ultimate fulfillment. (think Antiochus IV Epiphanes, 70 AD and what happens in with the antichrist in Jerusalem at the end).

We have a 2000 year play-out of the antichrist system and seat of authority (via Pagan Rome to the Vatican) that at the very end becomes truly global and boils down into a single guy and antichrist who sits at the head.
