Saban Retires!
All I can say is thank you for what you helped to do in making the SEC what it is today and I wish you and Terry long life and happiness together in retirement!

RE: Saban Retires!
Rumor in Tuscaloosa is that Terry was diagnosed with dementia at the beginning of the season which was the catalyst to the decision being this season. If true, then Saban is a better husband than a coach putting her first.

I sure hope that's not the case for their sake, but if so, certainly makes sense. Hard to deny just how much Nick loves Ms. Terry.

RE: Saban Retires!
What a coach.

Truly deserving of the G.O.A.T. Title unlike most who get it applied to.

I wish him and his wife the best in their golden years.

The SEC just became wide open as we welcome OU and UT into the fold.

He actually stated in an interview earlier that no one is having any health issues. I believe it was Rece Davis that asked him about the rumor. Which I'm thankful for because I want nothing more than the Saban family to have the time and the health to enjoy retirement.

The only thing he's stated on that front is that he just doesn't have the mental and physical energy to do everything he needs to do to stay on top. That's pretty much what's he said for a long time though..."when I feel like I can't compete at the highest level, that's when I'll hang it up."

Oddly enough, the advent of NIL and all the other changes to the game may have hastened this. Some outlets have framed that as Saban just got tired of dealing with all the changes, but that's not what he said. He stated that all the changes simply require more work and time to be at your best, and it just takes a toll on you.

RE: Saban Retires!
Nick put the kibosh on any health reasons. He's just tired.

Alabama is getting raided... 25 players to the portal already. This is going to be a rough year.
