I'm going with Dan Lanning, if Bama can pry him away from Nike's cold, hard cash.

I saw a stat that Saban was paid just over $19k PER DAY at Bama. Good work if you can get it. 04-cheers

This to me felt immediately like the only name that absolutely wouldn't say "no". The iron will likely never be hotter for the guy at Washington and he may have never gotten another shot at a job like Bama.

I think the only absolute nos where, Harbaugh, Smart and Sark. Anyone else would have been out of the mind to not consider the job seriously. My opinion anyone else would have been a fool to turn it down unless your afraid of expectations and championship pressure.

I don't give a flip about Alabama football nor Nick Saban but I'd hate to be the guy who follows him into that position. No one can live up to those expectations and constant comparison to Saban.

I think Dabo was a no on both ends of the equation, Lanning and Norvell both reaffirmed their commitment to their current employers.

Not wanting off the sinking ship of the ACC is all I can't understand.

Dont think Dabo was a candidate at this time, yes it could have gotten to him if there were some nos. Amazing how quickly you can fall and the important of timing. Its exactly why these type jobs rarely receive a rejection. Its one of about 5-6 places you can winning championship every year.

We will never know who was and wasnt contact/offered but Jimmy Sexton is great at getting a few raises for his clients when a good job opens. Sexton more than likely knew if anyone wasnt interested and informed Alabama before the interviews began. Which makes me think no one had the opportunity to say no with a real offer. Lanning and Norvell used the opening to get a raise so they had to annouces they were staying put.

I could care less about Saban and Alabama. Why do we have a CUSA thread for this?

How much less could you care? You cared enough to reply to a thread clearly marked off topic a full three days after the last response.

How much do you care about NASCAR, we have a thread about that too...

Nick should come coach at Utep, he definitely would not be in any pressure to win. Losing is the norm for coaching pay raise and contract extensions.

Plus, the weather is great, no humid summers.
