Thank you Tops. He was a gentleman and the best advocate for high school and college football in Kentucky. His leadership kept EKU from falling to Morehead’s status, that’s what HF wanted. He stayed the course until HF finally left.

I believe he and Boots were big buddies off the field, as well.

Tarleton might’ve won two games with Mo State’s football schedule. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison with the records considering conference differences.

Missouri State does not take its football program very seriously. They have gotten better about that but that definitely hurts them along with their location and lack of a television market. They don't have anything that differentiates them from anybody else so you can just plug in someone else and get the same results.

It is not apples to apples, yet, I am impressed with what Tarleton has done in such short time coming from D2.

Hard to believe these numbers are accurate but they are straight from Tarlton’s website.

“The average annual athletic budget in the Southland Conference is $13.4 million and the average athletic budget in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is $15 million.  Tarleton’s athletic budget is currently $7.8 million per year.”

https://tarletonsports.com/sports/2019/9...-faqs.aspx

You’ll find EKU around $17 million, Kennessau and Missouri St around $30 million. The numbers speak for themselves.

Old article. It's talking about the coming year 2020-2021. Tarleton State budget is at $18M for expenditures and $20M for revenue in athletics on the Equity in Athletics site.

That’s why I said it’s hard to believe. That being said, they were just at $7.8 million four years ago.

RE: Tarleton State to CUSA Discussion
Last night our baseball team had the pleasure of playing Tarleton in Stephenville. On a quick glance I had assumed their stadium was just a little bit smaller version of ours but not quite. Junior high level concessions, no backs on the bench seats, no video board, and worst of all no actual bathrooms. They had a port a potty trailer instead. Obviously thats better than nothing but I shouldn't have to see our baseball players waiting inline for a port a potty with all of us regular folk in the middle of the game.

I know baseball isn't a huge deal in the realm of realignment but I really hope this baseball stadium isn't indicative of the quality of their other projects.

Looks like a nice facility after last springs renovation. How could they forget bathrooms or were they having a temporary plumbing problem?

There's no plumbing for there to be a plumbing problem lol. The stadium is literally just the absolute necessities. Bleachers, pressbox, dugouts, and field. No buildings for bathrooms, concessions, or even ticket sales.

How embarrassing.

Almost as embarrassing as MT's pitching staff.
