Dave Chappelle Nails Transgenderism Again in New Special
Quote:You have to give Dave Chappelle credit for not backing down. Over the last several years, he's faced an onslaught of condemnations from the pro-trans lobby, which includes essentially the entire global left. That came after his 2021 comedy special on Netflix included several jokes making fun of trans ideology.
The backlash was swift. Writers for 'Saturday Night Live' boycotted his hosting gig while Netflix employees threatened action due to the alleged publication of "transphobic" content. Megan Rapinoe, the obnoxious U.S. Women's soccer player, even accused Chappelle of inciting violence.
Well, the legendary comedian has returned with a new Netflix special, and he's going right back to the well. In one part of his routine, he begins to tell the story of getting to meet Jim Carrey, and once he gets to the end, he delivers an incredible punchline.
(WARNING: Language)
Things start mundane enough, with Chappelle describing how he's the "biggest Jim Carrey fan in the world," calling him a true artist whose talent can't be replicated. The comedian then talks about how Norm MacDonald once invited him to the set of 'Man on the Moon' to meet Carrey. At the time, the actor was playing the part of Andy Kaufman, and Carrey wanted to remain in character even between shots.
CHAPPELLE: When they said cut, this ***** was still Andy Kaufman. So much so that everybody on the crew called him Andy. I didn't know any of that. I just went there to meet him, and when I walked into the room where we were supposed to meet, I screamed, "Jim Carrey!" And everyone said, "No! Call Him Andy."
And I didn't understand, and then he came over and he was acting weird. I didn't know he was acting like Andy Kaufman. He was just like, "Hey, how you doing," and I was just like, "Hello? Andy?" Now, in hindsight, how ******* lucky am that I got to see one the greatest artists of my time immersed in one of his most challenging processes ever. I was very lucky to have seen that.
But as it was happening, I was very disappointed because I wanted to meet Jim Carrey, and I had to pretend this ***** was Andy Kaufman all afternoon, and he was clearly Jim Carrey. I could look at him and I could see it was Jim Carrey.
Anyway, I say all that to say...that's how trans people make me feel.
There aren't going to be enough towels in the world to soak up all the tears that are about to be shed over Chappelle making that joke. The backlash he's going to receive is going to be huge. And you want to know the best part? He doesn't care at all.
It's enjoyable to watch a guy who has no intention of bowing to the outrage mob, and to be sure, it's already stirring as I type this. Chappelle says what he wants, and he's one of the few major figures in entertainment that isn't scared to tell the truth about transgenderism. If a man wants to dress up like a woman, that's his prerogative. But to demand others affirm that he's literally become a woman? I'm not doing that, and neither is Chappelle, who has every professional incentive to get in line. It's heartening.

He has enough money to not give a crap about offending anyone and speaking the truth. I need to catch his latest show. I've enjoyed all the others. And yeah, people need to lighten up. A comedian is supposed to occasionally offend, it's what they do. The easily offended can just not watch, it really is that simple. Can you imagine Eddie Murphy's Raw coming out today? It never would, and we would miss out on a masterpiece

Did Dave strike a nerve?
Haven't listened to any "comedy" from him in years. Never really found him all that funny. So, no.
