To the Big10: Miami and FSU

To the SEC: UNC, UVA, Clemson and NC-State

After that the Big12 could literally take whoever they wanted, if they wanted to match the SEC and Big10 at 20 teams they could go with 4 ACC schools or 3 and USF.

Off the top of my head the only issue I could see is that there is a good chance that 4 current ACC schools would be seen as more valuable then USF overall:

Pitt, Louisville, GT and VT.

I think USF along with other AAC schools that are private or AAU/R1 institutions will then for sure be asked to backfill into the ACC:

Tulane, Rice, UConn, USF, Memphis

The B1G isn't grabbing FSU, IMHO. The B1G isn't going to take Clemson, and FSU will pitch a hissyfit without them, especially considering that Clemson desires to leave the ACC also. Now, Miami is definitely possible, and, as I have said before, Georgia Tech is possible. It might even be possible to grab USF also, but only if the B1G acts fast!! UVa could join the B1G or the SEC, but I'm leaning towards the B1G for the Cavs. The Virginia Tech Hokies are very likely to wind up in the SEC, and I highly doubt that they would fight that.
To get UNC, I see the SEC being willing to make two concessions: full membership for NC State (have a conspiracy theory on them accelerating this whole FSU vs ACC mess btw) and a partial membership for Duke (olympic sports only).

To recap:

B1G: Miami (FL), GT, UVa, maybe USF, maybe Pitt, maybe Syracuse

SEC: FSU, UNC, Clemson, NCSU, VT, partial Duke, maybe Kansas

With the above, who would the Big XII take?

The Big 12 should stay at 16 teams. Anything beyond that is just expanding for the sake of expanding.

FSU wouid be happy to be on board of a lifeboat. I don’t think UNC and UVA would be in separate conferences, ideally the trio along with Duke wouid move together.

Really? I think the B12 would happily add Louisville and Pitt. Maybe Syracuse?

The Big XII doesn't need SMU since they have TCU. I'd prefer they both be in a conference together.

Houston to the SEC? No way in hell.

It's possible but we'd have to improve on and off the field a lot. Don't see it happening in the next 15 years.

If VA Tech is still available, I would replace them with Wake

-If VT is still available one of the AAC schools will be left out.
-But you gotta admit, that conference makes for a lot of good THU/SAT matchups and a lot of money saved on travel.
-If VT comes, maybe one of the other VA teams can come also to keep the travel partners together.

I'm sure the Big 12 would add them in the future. I personally just think it's a mistake to go past 16. How much more money is going to be put in KU's pocket by adding Louisville, Pitt, USF, and Syracuse? Would they even add any money at all?

Remember, Phillips was bullish and even defiant last month on the ACC's future even if some of his conference's marquee schools were to leave for greener pastures.

"If a couple want to go, they can go and it won’t take down the conference like we saw on the west coast," Phillips said. That’s not going to happen.”

If, for example, FSU and Clemson hit the door and a couple others appear headed that way as well, who does Jimbo tap for replacements to make sure the ACC has the necessary number of schools to keep ESPN "satisfied" ... ?

Like swooping up the 3 out of 10 with the great personality to keep your boy from dating her.

Big 12 just needs to stand pat, and do some behind the scenes back door talking.

My guess, FSU and VA to Big. UM and NC possibilities.

sec may stay where they are or add NC and maybe VT, if 4 Clemson NC state could fit the bill.

B12 May have chance to shop then.
Pitt, UL, G tech, NC state or UM would be great adds. If by some strange twist of fate, you could get an UM, Clemson, or VT the B12 has home run on its hand.
