And a 6 seed in the tournament, 4 NCAA tournaments in 5 years from 2015-2019, and 2 tournament wins.

Now in illustrious company, like Mississippi Valley and Houston Christian.

Lehigh is still coached by Brett Reid, the same coach of the 2012 Lehigh team that knocked out Duke. Seeing them on the list is very surprising. Of those 8 Div 1 losses: half are road games at P6's (Penn State, North Carolina, Providence, and Boston College), only two (Cornell and St. Francis) are at home.

Southern Indiana went from a top D2 program to being down in the losing column is a shock to them as well.

Lehigh the best of those teams. Picked 2nd in the Patriot League and could challenge Colgate for the conference title.

Buffalo and George Halcovage have a long few seasons ahead of them to rebuild into a top MAC side. They can do it but more investment needs to be put in.

They got their "money and exposure" so Im sure people will justify moving up being a brilliant decision.

It's only USI's second season in D1. You can't expect wonders to be worked in the first four years of the transition. They lost literally every important player this season for them through graduation or the transfer portal. Stan Gouard is a good coach but the next few season are expected to be rough.

Southern Indiana debated moving to D1 for 15-20 years before finally deciding it was time in 2022. It's a move ultimately looking in the long term. They had a great first season. Probably exceeded expectations even among themselves.

Bama hired their coach away.

Detroit-Mercy is a shock, IMO. I remember when they used to be a real powerhouse. Now??
I hate to say it, but Detroit-Mercy is a joke!!

Bama hired their coach away.

I remember 'Bama having a revolving door at their basketball coach position. I thought Nate Oats predecessor would end the revolving door over there, but I was wrong. Looks like 'Bama finally found one they like in Nate Oats. That's important because Auburn finally found someone they like in former Tennessee Vol reject Bruce Pearl. And UGA decided to get in on the action by hiring away former Gator head coach Mike White, who Florida made little effort to try keep, IMO.
Anyway, good call on Buffalo & Nate Oats, although I'm sure the UB adminstration will pull the plug on the current HC if he continues to do badly.

I wonder how much Duke paid them?

Duke
Date: Nov. 24 Location: Cameron Indoor Stadium, Durham, North Carolina Record: 27-9 KenPom: 18

USI faces arguably its toughest opponent of the season in the Blue Devils. Second-year coach Jon Scheyer leads Duke after a loss in the NCAA tournament second round with one of the best on-paper rosters in the country. Key returners Kyle Filipowski, Tyrese Proctor and Mark Mitchell headline a roster that also has one of the top incoming freshmen classes in the country. The Blue Devils won nine consecutive games to win the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament last season. USI gets a $135,000 guarantee for participating in the MTE.
