Jacob Likes Declares for the Draft
Per his twitter post and The Daily Memphian, he is declaring for the NFL draft. He does plan to play in The Liberty Bowl.

He will be sorely missed next year, but I wish him all the best. He has been a solid player and a solid citizen.

Man!! Our offensive line has been decimated!!

Bert - give us some good news about what you expect with the o-line going into next year. Please!!

Well he was a redshirt senior. I probably would forego my covid year as well. I rather see him go pro then see transfer to a p5 school.

It will almost be a complete OL rebuild. SH is probably a little concerned about that.

Three starters on the OL leaving.

His being a senior this was expected.

He has actually been helping in the ticket drive for the LBC.

He was not expected to come back. But it hurts b/c Davion Carter was set to be the Center next year. I think we will be fine next year. Marcus Henderson was hurt much of the year and should be good. We will pick up some guys in the portal and they have been working to develop some guys that should fill in. Mitchell Gildehaus could possibly be the center or maybe Kyndal Mckinnie. Both got reps this year but need to make a big step up b/w now and next season. Luckily we still have Jacob for the Bowl game.

Already have a couple commitments in the OL coming in, also have a lot of Fr/So with pretty good size awaiting their turn. In fact both lines are heavy with Fr/So. Just hope we don't end up surpass 4 games by playing some in the bowl game.

Pounders is the biggest loss as he likely would've been starter for the next two years.

Are all of the NFL bound players going to play in the Liberty Bowl game (Watson, Allen, Arku, etc)

I believe I noticed 50, 55, 72, 74, & 78 on the sidelines at Temple. I would assume if they made travel roster they are next ones up on depth chart.

In other offensive line new, DYLAN PARHAM started at center for the Raiders last night. He looked good.

The raiders scored 7 offensive touchdowns. Parham might be their good luck charm.

I'd love to think that, but the truth is the Chargers are a team that has simply given up.
