Crowd of over 7000 at Savage (7082 to be exact). I have to check my records, but I think that might be a MAC regular season home court record.

It may be the record. Ball State just set a Worthen Arena WBB attendance record of 5,500 this year against Notre Dame.

Nice job Toledo!

Nice job Toledo!

It was the second-largest crowd for a Toledo home women's basketball game. The largest was 7,301 for an April 2, 2011, WNIT game against Southern California.

Some in Bowling Green were chuckling about this game. When Robyn Fralick got the job at Michigan State, several of our Falcon players left. Among them were Elissa Brett, who left for Michigan. At Savage Hall the other day, Ms. Brett played 19 minutes and scored 7 points for the Wolverines in the blowout loss to Toledo.

At least at Bowling Green, Brett would have had a shot to win a game like that. (Bowling Green split the series with Toledo last year, and both games were fairly close.)

The UM game clearly set the MAC record for a regular season home game, surpassing the 6086 UT had last season against BG. I'm not aware of any others to exceed 6K. UT has had numerous home games over 5K, while most of the other schools have rarely surpassed 4K.

Interestingly enough, the regular season record for a conference contest between MAC teams was a neutral site game between UT and Kent at (then) Gund Arena with an official attendance listed as >12K. Although, that was a special case, as the MAC game was sandwiched between some much higher profile games in a national MTE.

As for Ms. Brett, she has now lost 3 straight to Toledo, and in those three games she has shot 31% from the floor combined. One of the UT photographers posted on formerly-twitter that he heard an unnamed Michigan player reportedly say at this game:

Quote:“I literally never want to play Toledo again in my life.”

LOL. Wonder which player that was.
