I was, in 2009, power went out, I looked out the in back yard, and about 100 yards, could've been 200 yards away, but I didn't have time to care, just heard the 'train sound' people say they hear, got my beagle and tucked myself in the bottom of an interior closet. Had some vinyl peeled off the house, but not much more than that. A woman and her infant was killed just about a quarter mile down the street from me. Tragic.

Ugly loss to Belmont, ten point margin does not indicate how lopsided it was. This is not a good team. Down a starter in Cam Weston, out for year, and Ogundele, a reserve, but that's no excuse for how bad and limited this squad is.

Sadly, this version of CUSA basketball is down this season. There is not a truly dominant team among the bunch, just a bunch of solid teams probably a season away from hitting their stride. The way I see it, this season will come down to who is peaking come March. We are a one bid conference for the time being. Currently, I still see Liberty and Western Kentucky as the favorites with Louisiana Tech now joining them at the top. UTEP will need to find another gear offensively if they want to be a contender as well. The rest are having their ups and downs.

.
According to our stat guru Zeke, out of 118 D1 games Saturday the 17 point margin was the most of any road game win. It could've been worse but Lutz played 15 players, 13 of which scored.

Ebbs and flows with teams is not unusual. The transfer portal makes it harder. Currently Delaware is #86 Net and UMass #90. Next up for us is former A10 founding member West Virginia on the 16th.

In most cases when a school hires a new basketball coach with new ideas, there is usually a year of player reorganization before the program starts to strengthen, Louisiana Tech went through that process a season ago. And currently, Western Kentucky, and New Mexico State are going through that now. Although New Mexico State has taken a much bigger drop due to external factors cause by the previous coach. Sam Houston is also working through a new coaching hire. But Chris Mudge is essentially continuing what Hooten set in place. I do expect Western Kentucky and New Mexico State to be much stronger programs in the near future.

That's the last time you cried? I suspect some tears have been shed through the years as NMSU throttled the minors...
