I just don’t see how the ACC ever recovers from this. The buyout has to be negotiated Q1 next year. Clemson better get on board with them. Not the right place or time to discuss, but the idea of a P4 next year is just so farcical on so many levels.

Get two AQs each for the B1G and SEC, 1 for each of the M2, 1 for G5, and do away with CCGs in ‘26.

Throttle back.

The SEC and Big 10 can only get half the first round byes starting next year.

Yeah… Maybe FSU can still win an 8-team playoff in this two year window 03-yawn

FSU took care of business ON THE FIELD every game this year, regardless of injuries or how good the wins looked. Alabama and Texas did not. This outcome isn't a shock but it is a shame.

FSU was decent... with Travis.

Louisville didn't have to play FSU, UNC or Clemson. They got Duke without their QB. They got FSU in the CCG without their QB. They lost to stinky Pitt and had to conjure up a 4th qtr. goal line stand to hold off mighty IU.

Dabo has fans calling in and savaging him on his radio show. UNC can barely beat App St every year. The U can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory as good as anyone.

The last straw was that Sharknado-esque display of pee wee football last night. Aint no way they were getting in after that.

You hate the ACC so really your opinion is heavily biased.

The Pac and the Big Ten are incredibly weak and overrated. Louisville and Clemson blasted ND—a team that took OSU to the wire and frankly should have beaten.

If we are only looking at the best four teams, then put the damn best four teams in:

Texas
Alabama
Georgia
Michigan

What did Washington and Michigan do OOC compared to FSU? Nothing. The Big Ten and Pac are insulated and it grows tiresome watching them get housed in the playoffs.

I mean you equally hate the Big 12. Spent the entire offseason talking **** about them. And now they technically have a 12-1 team who played a big 12 schedule with Big 12 recruits while the ACC is sitting out.

And despite the chatter there isn't really firm evidence that the SEC or Big10 is out to expand. I personally think this should be a wake up call for both of your conferences.

RE: ***Official 2023 CFP Selection Show***
My question is this. If FSU is so much worse without their starting QB, why are they still ranked #5? Shouldn't they be behind Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon at the very least? Presumably, they are left out because they aren't one of the four best. Is the committee trying to sell us on the idea that they are still one of the five best? And if the "four best" isn't the criterion, then what is?

I think it was done out of “respect” to FSU and also the TV reveal, knowing the OB matchup is locked, but it just ends up looking so much worse. No one is going to care in the long run.

Yeah, I heard that, too. That may not bode very well for Florida State, which is unfortunate because they find ways to win as a team.

thing is they're clearly not as good now as they were earlier with their QB.

Alabama is not that good, but worst than Florida State when they almost lost to Auburn and Auburn lost to New Mexico State.

Current of future Big Ten teams to win five of six NYD bowls. Current or future SEC teams look to go 0-5.

So, for the G5 NY6 slot it's not who is best but who has the fewest losses, as opposed to the CFP slots. So confusing. Or hypocritical. One or the other.

I think the CFP got it right. Regarding the "best" vs "deserving" thing, IMO it is not one or the other, but a combination of both. You have to credibly be one of the best, but also have to have a credible resume, deserving.

If we look at FSU, Alabama and Georgia, the three teams the CFP said were in the running for the final spot, IMO they would be ranked like this:

Team ................. Deserving ................. Best

Alabama ............. 5 ............................. 3
FSU ................... 3 .............................. 7
Georgia .............. 7 .............................. 4

So if we average those, Alabama is a 4, FSU is a 5 which translates to 5, and Georgia's average is 5.5, which puts them in sixth place. IMO Ohio State was a 6/6 combo of deserving and best.

Regarding the teams above them, I would have Texas as a 2 (best)/4(deserving) combo, Washington as a 5 (best) 1 (deserving) combo, a Michigan as a 1 (best)/2 (deserving) combo.

So IMO the CFP had a logic that adds up, and it explains Georgia being behind FSU despite being better.

Big XII?!

I literally just said Texas deserves to be in if we’re looking at the best four teams right now. I think you’re confusing banter with noob Big XII fans and me having some sort of angst towards an inanimate conglomeration of sports teams lol

What’s the PAC’s best OOC win? Please answer.

Big Ten? OSU slipping by ND?
