Oregon chicks sue over NIL
And away we go
https://www.sportico.com/leagues/college...234749110/
"violating federal law by depriving them of equal athletic financial aid and other resources. Those other disproportionate resources, the plaintiffs allege, are the benefits UO athletes receive through Oregon’s NIL collective, Division Street, and Opendorse, which hosts the Ducks’ official NIL marketplace."
I hope they burn it all down.

They don't. There is no formal connection. That doesn't change the fact that anyone can find an attorney willing to sue anyone over anything these days. Cute how those who profess to be "non-woke conservatives" are quick to jump on this bandwagon if it supports their extreme outlier narratives. More poison from the Tigers old guard.
Quote:Though Division Street is a separate legal entity from Oregon, the plaintiffs are attempting to hold the school responsible for what they say are the disparate opportunities the for-profit entity provides female athletes as compared with the men.

As someone that works in the legal field, I completely agree with your statement.

Wonderful! I'm assuming it's part of a multi-part effort that will include trans competing against women. This could get interesting.

No, but the words in the article --> "gender inequality". Females have zero chance at NIL income/money, hence the lawsuit.

It's absolutely ridiculous that men posing as women are allowed to compete against women in women's sports. Stating that, I'm not specifically against NIL.

I think I counted 6 or 7 of the 100 on this list. The rest are males. That isn't a disparity?

Maybe if you use the right link, you'll get better results:
https://www.on3.com/nil/rankings/player/womens-nil-100/
If you're arguing that there is an unfair disparity, are you kidding? What are the ratings and attendance like for women's sports versus men? Have you ever considered that? The people have voted and they overwhelmingly vote to watch the men's products. When paying someone to use their name, image, or likeness; one tends to pay the individuals with the larger followings. That's not discrimination, that's called smart business. Is it any coincidence that the top female NIL recipient is a gymnast?

LOL, Really? Your comparison is women's only and my link is combined. Who's link is more accurate when doing a comparison. Wow! BTW, Title IX is NOT to take business spreadsheets into account. That's not what Title IX is or does. Title IX has been passed and signed into law.

I addressed your concerns and explained why. You can choose to ignore objective reality if you prefer. Which gender-specific programs generate more revenue? Which gender-specific programs have the highest attendance? Which gender-specific programs have the highest viewership?
Quote:Who's link is more accurate when doing a comparison.
Did you really need a link to determine something that anyone would already know? I'll give you a head start on the answer to one the above questions, to further elucidate the factors. I assure you that the answer to the remaining questions will overwhelmingly favor men's sports.
2021-22 Net Attendance for D-I
Men: 23,789,492
Women: 6,927,901
How about professional leagues? Let's look at revenue.
NBA: $10,000,000,000
WNBA: $60,000,000

Wow! Please explain how Title IX is even applicable to a private organization with the purpose of paying individuals to use their name, image, or likeliness? When has an NIL initiative ever been a school, education program, or received federal funds?
Quote:It prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program that receives funding from the federal government. This is Public Law No. 92‑318, 86 Stat. 235, codified at 20 U.S.C. §§ 1681–1688.

Anything that puts this whole scam in the public eye is good.
Women deserve NIL equity.

Take the "L" and accept that you're wrong. Pretending that you forgot how to read doesn't help your case, and I'm still waiting for your answer.

The OP is as anti-woke as one can get, and the hilarious part is that you don't even realize that he's trolling you. He's anti-NIL and couldn't care less about "equality."

Didn't think you could demonstrate how Title IX was remotely applicable. Typical. When faced with factual information, has a complete meltdown.
